The media could not be loaded. ToolPumde Car Jump Starter 9000A 100W Fast-Charging 12V This ToolPumde jump starter is the Swiss Army Knife of charger/jumpers. It has everything. Shown in the picture with the flaps up; the left panel is for charging the starter. The jump starter can be charged by connecting it to a charged battery with the vehicle running. It can also be charged by using a cigarette lighter adapter (included in the kit); a power transformer (included in the kit) plugged into an electrical wall socket; or even a solar panel (not included). The left panel also has a button to operate the light built into the back of the jumper. The light operation is shown in a short video above. I was very impressed by the brightness and operation of this light. Other flashers I have encountered built into chargers are weak and dim. In a car stop emergency, this flashing light could be placed down the road a short distance, and warn cars of danger ahead. They will be able to see it flashing as a warning. The non-flashing setting has a bright, and a less bright setting for use as a work light. The middle panel is the output set. It can run or charge just about any device. There is a USB-C socket that is power on demand, two USB type-A sockets, and a cigarette lighter type outlet. Using the lighter adapter plug I can operate a moving map display I have installed on a laptop. The laptop draws a significant amount of current, but this starter runs it all day with no problem. I no longer have to worry about running the truck battery down when I am using the map without the engine running. The right panel is the outlet for the jumper cables. Note that the cables are constructed in such a way, with different length cables, that unintentional shorting is largely prevented. This is not one of those small “one jump” jumpers. I have included pictures with a 12 inch ruler to properly show the size. This is a portable, but substantial piece of equipment. It is significantly heavier than the one jump emergency jumpers. One example for use is with an electric tire pump. When the 4x4 is taken rock climbing, it is necessary to vent a significant amount of air from the tires. I also have a ToolPumde tire pump with a 12V plug that fits this chargers cigarette lighter outlet. The ToolPumde jumper will easily run the tire pump long enough to re-inflate four tires before returning to road travel. There is even enough capacity left to help friends who need re-inflation. It also works well for camping. It can run and/or charge lights, cameras, phones, and devices. I would give this ToolPumde jump starter more than a 5 if it were possible. This is a solidly built electrical emergency kit in a small container. The manual says the starter can also jump a battery that is so dead that the dome light won’t come on. I did not test this, since certain protections have to disabled, but if somehow the battery is totally dead of charge, the ToolPumde jumper can be used in an emergency. The battery has to be in a discharged condition, not a shorted bad battery. If you drive a car, you need a ToolPumde jumper/charger. The manufacturer of this jump starter seems very proud of their product, to the tune of an asking price which is 2x, 3x, 4x or more above other jump starter products. So I have been asking myself why this unit would be listed for $279 when others are $149, $59 or less. And I am left scratching my head, without an answer. They specify that this jump starter has a 9000 amp capability, which is high I guess and might allow starting some larger engines. But when I got this unit, my first thought was how light it was. And since battery technology is not magic, I suspected a pretty small internal battery. My suspicions were confirmed as the labeling on the bottom of the unit specifies a 7 Ah battery. Not much. In fact, if 9000 amps were being pulled from that battery, that current would last for maybe 3 seconds. Not much time to get a big engine started... This unit does have a nice, big and clear display. But that alone still doesn't justify the high price. Haven't needed to use this to start a car yet - I keep my car batteries on solar trickle chargers to get longest battery service life and make sure the vehicles are ready when I need them. So I can't yet say how effective this jump start unit is at dealing with dead vehicle batteries. But 7 Ah of battery capacity just isn't all that much, so I'll just use this one around the house (where I have back-up systems if needed).
