I confess, when I ordered my CARCOS Summer Palazzo pants, I had low expectations. Fashion—especially plus-sized, has a way of looking a whole lot better on the screen than on the customer. Add to that the composition—98% polyester, 2% spandex, and I was hoping for the best, expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. These harem-type pants (I got mine in black) are, first off, very pleasing to the touch. Not grabby or catchy, not sweaty or clingy. They are a bit transparent, but you’d have to stand before a pretty bright light, and even then, it’s silhouette, not stark. The material here hangs nicely, with a lovely flow that moves gracefully with your stride. Like many finer materials, wrinkling can be an issue, but, again, not in a big way. Pulling things to where you want them before sitting solves the issue, and the wrinkles work out on their own, no ironing required. The pockets are nice and deep, generous enough to accommodate a cell phone. A real plus in women’s pants. I’m considering adding a button and loop for added security. The fit here is what I hoped for. Often, because of my odd build (5’4”, 240 lbs, big thighs, smaller waist), I’m disappointed. These pants, however, with their adjustable drawstring waist, allow for a lot of wiggle room, fit-wise, and clinging at the thighs is not a problem for me. So, the fit was surprisingly good. Washing can be as easy or fiddly as you wish. While they recommend hand washing, I’ve found that the gentle/delicates cycle with a non-bleach, gentle detergent (like Woolite) does the trick without harming the material or changing its feel. I dry flat, blotting with a towel. The instructions warn against hanging dry, I would assume because doing so may stretch the material. In all, I am very glad I ordered these pants! They fit nicely, look lovely, go with blouses or suit jackets wonderfully, and don’t break the bank. I find they go with most fpotwate choices. These are nice pants. They are oversized, and I could have used a smaller size. I ordered the 3X, which is far too big. (It was the recommended size based on previous orders, but for these pants, it was not correct.) Unfortunately, I can't exchange them for a different size, but I would have been happier with a 1X, as these are very roomy. They are a great material and well-made; there has been no shrinkage. I also like that they are heavy and not see-through. While they are far too big for me, I gave them to my daughter, and they fit her far better, so it's not a loss! Read more
