Once a hippie, always a hippie. Aside from the pockets and parachute option, these are close enough to a chance to relive my youth, although I will pass on the midriff tops. You’re welcome. One star taken off because these are that shade that I do not consider “khaki” colored – too much yellow. (See my color comparison photo.) The fit is nice, and I appreciate the elastic in the back, which I did not need 55-60 years ago, but I do not mind now. These are maybe a bit too vintage, being 100% cotton – I have to drag out the iron and ironing board to tame all those unruly pocket flaps. I will pass on the ‘80’s “parachutes” by ignoring or removing the little drawstring on the bottom. Me likes my hippie pants as what we used to call bell bottoms. I think these are a bit pricey at $38. Maybe if the material was a little tighter weave or a blend that I didn’t have to IRON! I am so pleased with these cargo pants. I love everything about them. Lets start with the quality of fabric. It seems everything is made from cheap, thin cloth these days, but these cargo pants are made of a thicker material, it reminds me of old school denim. It moves easily with your body but has enough thickness to feel like you are wearing actual functional cargo pants. Pants you can fill the pockets and go out on an all day adventure in any weather. I am 5'9 and LOVE that the pants are long enough to be attractive and not sit one inch above my ankle. If you are a hiker or camper these actually have a small elastic draw string at the leg bottom to keep insects out if you choose to use it. The fit is super attractive. The waist is high enough to give a wonderful slimming effect without being too high that it is uncomfortable when you sit. I actually could have gotten a size smaller, and think I am going to try that because I love these so much. I will keep these for hiking and get a size smaller for running around town. I love the fitted waist and slightly relaxed legs. The pants have a sleek button and zipper front with an elastic back that allows them to move with you beautifully. The material feels quite good at first, but after a few wears, it didn’t hold up as well as I expected, so I took off one star. The fit also runs a bit small, I ordered a large, and while it still fits, it’s not as loose or comfortable as similar styles from other brands.
