So far it seems like a nice belt. The leather is thicker than usual- it's a nice looking, sturdy belt. We ordered this for a costume on a deadline - so nice to be able to just find it and have it come in quickly. Unfortunately it was too short- my son wears a 36 in pants so we ordered a 38. It was about 4 inches too short. I had been told to order 2 inches up but that ended up being too short - need to order more like 8 inches up. Another family member got it though - he liked it too. He seemed quite happy to get it. I'm sure Amazon would have let us return it but as I say, my other family member really liked it and wanted it for himself. It seems to be a belt type quite popular with my guys. So we didn't have time to order another one, so we went to Wally world- got a no-name one that looked very similar but wasn't nearly as thick a leather and the buckle wasn't as sturdy and it was $16. I'f I'd had time I'd just have ordered a 2nd one of these. The buckle on the one we got was very secure. Seems like it will last, if it doesn't, I will update the review. Read more

Additional comments - some people said this belt would only last a year or two. I use mine every day, and it's now well over 4 years old. I think this is a very good belt and I am hard on my clothing, etc. It still looks almost new to me after all this time. Amended review: After having the belt for probably three weeks, I had to go to the 5th hole, from the 3rd hole. The belt still looks and feels great, but it's like it got longer. I assume the leather stretched, most likely because part of that time, I was on vacation, walked many miles with the hot sun, accruing lots of perspiration and likely that caused it to stretch. I think new leather will do that. It's still a 5 star belt as far as I am concerned. Original review: I read all the reviews for this belt, and some folks said that the quality was poor and to only expect 1 - 3 years from the product. While that might be true for those that might wear this belt 7x a week, for me, I don't care, as I don't expect to use it more than about 2x a week, and then for only a few hours. So wear possible issues are not a concern for me. As for size, I was worried that it might not fit correctly as way too often I have gotten products ordered over the web where the size is not well measured. For example underwear that is 2x in size, but fits for me like 3x, but when I buy similar products that say 2x from various stores, they all pretty much fit like 2x. Similarly, I have ordered 3x and had it fit like 2x. It seems that mail order products are not very consistent. In this case, I ordered the maximum length, 54", and I'm more like 54.5", so I was worried, "what it it's too small?" As it turns out, the 54" was PERFECT. I'm at the middle hole of the set of 5 holes. Exactly where I wanted it. As for appearance, the belt looks quite nice to me. I like the satin finish, and the general design of the belt. So, bottom line for me, it's a 5 star product. Read more

I had to order 3 and return 2 to get the right size. I have 2 older Carhartt Men's Journeyman Belts that are a 50 size [black and brown] I had to return earlier ones of those as 'my size' was way too big, as it is, i've drilled at least 6 to 8 holes to make those fit. i have lost some weight [yeah] and while i did wear pants at a 54 back then..... My actual size now, using a cloth tape is about 51, but i do have some pants that are a 50 below is the Carhartt 'size' how long the leather actually is, and hole to buckle is longest farthest hole to end of leather belt New Carhartt belts. May 2018 Size. Leather measure. Hole to buckle 50 54 51 48 53 49 1/2 46 51 48 i kept the 46 !!!!!! which actually fit, but i wish i was really down that far!! some reviews have said that a 48 was too small [short] what universe are they in??!? Other than measurements, these are great quality [as most carhartt stuff is] These are made of good leather and metal, and have lasted 8 years and while are worn, still are OK So, not cheap, but end up being OK per year LOL Read more

The belt is just great. The leather is supple natyural grain, strong and sturdy with an over staturated dye and tanning that looks fantastic. It's got a nice matte finish which I prefer (shiny is usually a sign for lower end hide). The thickness and quality are what I would expect to see in belts costing twice as much. The buckle is well cast, solid and sound. The matte finish compliments the leather quite well, giving it an upscale yet understated look. The versatility is a plus too as it ashould work equally well in suit slacks to jeans. One very thoughtful touch is the at the loop where the buckle is - it's rivitied with two thick steel snaps. Most belts in this price range and higher are stitched. So you have to be very careful when pulling or cinching because this is the weakest link and stitches tend to burst over time. Not the case here: This not only makes the belt extremly strong you can replace the buckle by simply popping the two snaps and changing out the buckle. Excellent quality, thoughtful design and a great price make this belt an excellent value. Read more

I’ve used a Carhartt belt before and it held up forever without much deterioration and this one seems to be of the same quality. A lot of belts will start cracking or show excessive wear only in a few months but these hold up well over time. Smooth buckle action and overall solid quality. Read more
