Carhartt Mens Rugged Flex Steel Multi Pocket Double Front Pant

Well being a female in the construction industry gives me barely no options so a belt it is with these pants but love the option to wear the knee pads inside the front pockets. They are holding up well they haven’t ripped since the pocket material is a little thicker. they are a little thick for the hot summer but it real isn’t too bad. I still wear them all summer. I can’t find anything else that has the pockets in the knees for the knee pads to fit inside that works well for a females body. Well I still order a size up and wear a belt but a rave about these pants I hate wearing knee pads that you strap on I ordered the “ Tradies Professional Black Kneepad Inserts, No Strap Knee Pad Insert for Tactical Work Pants” they work great you can barely feel they are in when walking. As always with carhartt these are premium, durable work pants that are super comfortable, reliable and are my go to hands down. I own several carhartt work pants and although pricey they are well worth the money. The ripstop and reinforced pockets, knees and pant cuff are proof these work pants were well thought out and made for tradesman or just someone doing hard work on a regular basis. Full time carpenter here. These pants replaced the heavy denim pants I used to wear for work. These Carharrts are now my go-to pants for everyday use in construction. The form fitting stretch of the waistband eliminates the need for a belt, so it’s great for wearing tool bags and not worrying about the belt chafing. The built-in knee pads (sold separately) are amazingly comfortable, as thin and lightweight as they are. Even when wet, the pants stay light, and don’t sag- unlike common denim. I use them for everything from forming/pouring concrete to framing, and even finish work, but they especially shine when roof framing: the stretch of the fabric is a must for climbing through trusses and generally monkeying around without worrying about ripping anything. I have two pairs of these Carhartt pants with Carhartt inserts. I use the larger inserts. My knees kept rolling off the small ones. I use them daily crawling around finished floors and they have been a game changer. Not having to find a kneeling pad or other objects to kneel on. So far no signs of damage or fraying. Holding up great! I would highly recommend trying them out. If you spend any amount of time crawling around or kneeling throughout the day. These are for you. I wish I had these 20 years ago when I started my job. I don't know how they would hold up against concrete or a floor with some sort of aggregate in it. I have a pair of Carhartt jeans I use for garage work ( breaks, oil changes, misc. car repairs) they have held up well. But, the jeans are just too heavy in general. Even with suspenders, I can feel the weight. And would just sweat to much. My only real gripe or issue is the fitment. I normally wear 38x30 jeans with plenty of room in all areas. However, these seem to be a bit tight. Not in the waist so much, mainly in the legs and ballroom area also causing my boxers to ride up my leg. I work HVAC for living and these pants have lasted approximately four years working five days a week, 8+ hours a day. I could not be happier with how these pants have performed on a day-to-day basis loved these pants so much that I had my mother-in-law restitch them but now it’s time to re-order a brand new pair. I paired these pants up with the matching Carhartt kneepad inserts, but will strap on an additional set of kneepads when I know I have to crawl around or be on my knees all day long. Read more

My husband loves these, he works in appliance repair so having the streamlined knee pockets for knee pads is perfect. Also, the ripstop fabric is great for all seasons (light enough in summer), the gray color hides stains, and they look professional. I bought two pairs plus the knee pads inserts separately. My only concern is longevity of the Velcro but I make sure to close them up in the wash and mostly air dry. Read more

This is the 3rd pair of work pants with built in knee pads I have tried. The others were just plain awful either in fit, function or both. Although, a bit pricy these paints are extraordinary. Fit perfect, just the right amount of stretch and they actually look good. Multiple very functional pockets that work great. I also bought the Carhart knee pads. Again, a perfect design.
