The Carhartt Rugged Flex Relaxed Fit Midweight shirt jacket is not apparel. It is infrastructure for the torso. Percival does not don garments. He equips himself. The fabric possesses that rare quality of looking capable before a single task has been attempted. It suggests timber framing, field notes, battery swaps in winter, and the lifting of moderately heavy philosophical burdens. Rugged Flex is no idle marketing flourish. The cloth moves with intention. When one reaches for tools, adjusts headphones, or gestures emphatically about voltage stability, the fabric yields without protest. It does not bind. It cooperates. The relaxed fit is not slovenly. It is strategic. It accommodates layering, wool beneath, perhaps a thermal when the wind is uncharitable. It grants dignity to motion. The midweight construction strikes a noble balance. Substantial enough to confront cold corridors and drafty laboratories. Not so heavy as to suggest lumberjack cosplay. And in navy, the tone is disciplined. Industrial. Trustworthy. A color that pairs equally well with oscilloscopes and espresso. When worn with proper headwear, circular spectacles, and distinguished headphones, the ensemble communicates that work shall be done and done well. Five stars. One builds, one calibrates, one endures. Until the next undertaking, Percival Toadwell Van Bristow Read more

Love these shirts I have several in various colors. I am a broad shouldered guy and don't have a big belly and these were perfect. Normally I get shirts that fit my shoulders but then they are so big below it is like a dress. Plus I have an office job and would wear these to work, they look nice and last a long time. Good quality, fit well, its a thicker shirt but not hot. Love these shirts. Read more

I bought this shirt intending to have a screen print applied and to wear it as a work shirt while cutting brush. It is certainly heavy enough material to do so, but it is also such a nice-looking shirt that my girlfriend suggests that I wear it as a casual shirt when we go out and use something else to work and screenprint on. I agree. I read that they run large and I usually wear an XLT, so I ordered the Large Tall and I think it fits very well. For reference, I am 6"3', 190 lbs, with a 41" chest and 19" across the back of my shoulders. The material is heavy but comfortable and it looks to be made very well. I have a few other Carhartt shirts and a pair of Carhartt pants and they have not let me down. Yes, a bit pricey comparted to some, but I'm very pleased with this purchase. The photos were taken with the shirt straight out of the shipping bag, and I can't speak to whether it will iron well or not need ironing after a wash. Read more
