Awesome tool roll for my carving tools, different width pockets fits a variety of items easily, adjustable straps keep everything tight. Handle is conventient, and velcro pockets will hold small stuff. Overall well built, usual Carhart quality, strong fabric, straps and buckles. Got this as a gift for a family member, but I was able to examine it closely. This tool roll is awesome! It's the perfect size to load up for special jobs and throw it in the car, no need to bring the whole toolbox. The handle and straps are very solid and secure. On the inside, there's dozens of slots and pockets. This roll is obviously perfect for medium to small hand tools, but i'm thinking about getting one for my fountain pens. Read more

As a service plumber, this roll carries the tools I take to every service call. It could be a little bigger but then I'd just end up putting more tools in it. The one thing I did not like was the little side pouches, they only have a small piece of Velcro to keep them closed and are frequently opening up and dumping the contents, but it is highly durable. I purchased 3 of these for Christmas gifts to the men in my family. My husband and son-in-laws really liked having them and it is easy to unroll to find those tools you always need. I organized my husbands and he likes it much better than a tool chest. It is very sturdy for a Roll, securely fastens and I'm thinking about getting myself one! I have a pink tool bag that I'm always searching through to find my hammer, pliers and screw drivers for household fixes. I use this for carrying the basic tools for bicycle maintenance when I travel with a bike. I'm probably slightly overfilling it and using it to carry tools that are not quite the right shape or size for it, but it still works very well. It still looks almost new, even after taking it on trips overseas and using it regularly for almost a year. It has somewhat limited space for small things like socket adapters, but it's enough for my purposes. Some very minor complaints: - The slot widths seem kind of arbitrary to me, and they're not placed in the order that I think makes the most sense (larger slots should be on the outside when rolled up, and smaller slots on the inside, it seems like) - The buckles feel less snappy than I'm used to, but maybe this is due to trade-offs in durability Read more

Amazon had stocking issues, so took a couple of months to receive. I use the first one to hold wood carving tools, and appreciate the gradations in slot sizes for that purpose. Fabric weight is just about perfect. Some of the larger slots are bigger than necessary, so I have sewn three of those slots into two separate compartments, to hold as many as 21 tools. There are also three pockets on the interior of the roll which I am beginning to use for slips, small sharpening hones, and small strops, but I haven't decided if that will work out. That's about the limit of what this tool roll will carry, but it still isn't too bulky doing that. The only criticism I have is that the outermost tool in the roll can sometimes squish out of the roll's outer edge if I'm not careful when I'm packing up. It would've been nice if Carhartt had a fold-over flap on that edge, which I've seen on other tool rolls. I'll either sew in such a flap myself, or else add an elastic band to keep the outermost tool handle inside the roll. The size is just right for full-size wood-carving gouges, but wouldn't be ideal for a variety of files and rasps.
