CARMOUNT Clutch-X Black Upgraded Vacuum Phone Mount Suction Cup Car Phone Holder for iPhone Window Phone Mount 360

I purchased this with some skepticism. I wanted something that would mount securely to the dashboard of my car, and of rental cars when traveling. I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone, so I also purchased a Magsafe-compatible JETech Magnetic Case. My initial experience, merely mounting the Carmount Cluthx-X on the dashboard is positive. It seemed very stable. Removing it took a moderate effort, but not excessive. It left no residue whatsoever. I saved and re-used the plastic suction cup protector for storage. When I put the new Magsafe-compatible case on the phone, it seemed to be securely mounted, however I have not actually made a long drive with it to determine actual security and reliability. I was a bit dubious because of some of the other reviews. I attached the Carmount to the dash of my Kia and it has stayed attached (even in Florida sun) and I have a cover on my cellphone so I had to put the magnetic ring on the back of the cover, but it still works great. Others that I have tried blocked my air vents and/or the screen buttons. The Carmount does not!! Read more

Overall, this is a strong and reliable phone mount. The vacuum suction holds very well when installed on a clean, smooth surface, and the magnetic connection is quick and secure—much better than clamp-style holders. That said, it’s not perfect. Performance drops on textured or dirty surfaces, and if you don’t have a MagSafe phone, you’ll need to use the included ring. It’s also a bit bulkier than some mounts. While this product is described as using suction, it also relies on a very strong adhesive. If you plan to install it in one permanent location, it performs very well—the hold is solid and extremely stable. However, if you expect to move it to different places, proceed with caution. So far, the only way I’ve been able to remove it is by sliding dental floss behind it to break the adhesive seal. Fortunately, it has not left any residue or caused damage so far, but the bond was so strong that continued pulling would likely have stripped the finish from my kitchen cabinet. Because of this, I’m now hesitant to fully trust it for fear of damaging a surface. I noticed at least one other reviewer describing a similar experience, which makes me wonder whether there may be some variation between units, since many other reviewers did not report this issue. Best Phone mount I've ever purchased. I was skeptical that the heat from the windshield where I placed it would affect the suction capabilities - but this device hasn't budged. It's small and can be adjusted to various positions. The magnetic connector for phone mount is also very strong and grips quickly. I've told a few friends and they have purchased also.
