FIRST IMPRESSIONS Before going on I want to mention that I had some reasons to contact their Customer Support, even before delivery, & found them to be first class in every way. They bent over backwards to assist me & in a timely fashion too. For me that is a HUGE PLUS! FIRST IMPRESSIONS My K5 scooter came very well packed & everything was wrapped to avoid damage or paint scraping etc. You will need scissors to cut away all the wrappings. It will take some time to get it all unwrapped and ready to begin assembly. It was immediately apparent that this scooter is strong and well built. It weighs about 68 pounds. ASSEMBLY I have to say that the assembly is a non-trivial affair & it will require some time to get it together. Attention to detail is quite important too. As an example... The front fork is shipped backwards & before going forward tie front fork must be rotated 180 degrees from its shipping position. However, if you are careful to follow the instructions the assembly is quite straightforward and simple. Even so, after assembly there are some adjustments to make to get it ready to ride. In particular the brakes must be adjusted according to the instructions. This K5 model is a great scooter so far and I really like it. The weather is bad so I have only ridden it for a few minutes to test it. I will come back in a few days to let you know how it rides, etc. BTW, I am 5'10" and weigh 150 lbs & I'm in my 80's. FEATURES I lkie the fat tires on the K5 model as they make the ride smoother. A major feature for me is the steering geometry. It is well known that the steering column should be set at about 14 degrees from the vertical & virtually every bicycle follows this setting. To their credit Caroma has set the steering column at the proper angle. This makes the scooter steer just like a bicycle. On another scooter I own the steering column is nearly vertical and that makes the steering very sensitive and hard to control. (for me at least) Older persons, like me, will appreciate this feature. I also like the brakes & they do a good job of stopping. On the other hand I find the seat to be too hard & narrow & not to my liking. I will be looking for a better . UPDATE ON 6-8-2025 I have not put enough miles on this scooter to be able to say more. The battery life is good and I find the range to be around 25 to 30 honest range. I only weigh about 150 so this will change according to the rider's weight. In the same vein. I find the hill climbing ability to be really good. I live in hill country so this is important for me. My driveway is short but very steep & this scooter does it with ease. In fact it takes long and fairly steep hills without a whimper, so I', really happy with that. Upon start up the torque of the motor is amazing & it gets you up to speed in a flash. It handles much like a regular bicycle but the steering is a bit more sensitive because of the shorter wheel base. It did take a while to get really confident while riding. I also like the cruise control. Set a speed and it will happily keep the speed you set. A nice touch for sure. I also find that the big fat tires make it quite comfortable even on gravel or bumpy roads. Overall I rate this scooter to be outstanding in its performance & I could not be happier. It gets me around without any muss or fuss & almost free too. I'm well over 80 years old & riding this scooter is a breeze, even at my age. Heck, it's even fun! Read more

Heavy package was in bad shape upon delivery. Inside was packed very well though. Easy to assemble - all tools included. No air in tires - so be prepared for that. Battery has charged quickly and though I've only taken it out a few times, I am very happy with its handling on dirt, gravel, grass and pavement and up slight hills. Much easier to control than the ride on scooter my daughter has as the wheels are so much larger and the front wheel is at an angle - unlike the scooter where the front wheel is directly up & down under the handle bars and wobbling is crazy on the scooter. This bike scooter has no suspension and has a rougher ride though. I love the cruise setting as my hand gets tired from keeping the handle bar throttle turned constantly. On first ride - be careful as the throttle goes from 0 to "oh shit" fast in a second. Bright headlight but no rear light - just a reflector. Seat is ok - not overly comfortable. Moderately heavy to lift for putting on a rack or inside a truck bed. If you are older - you may need help with that. Read more

I’m a 230 lb man, and the Caroma K4 has been a game-changer for my daily commutes and neighborhood rides. Right out of the box, the scooter was well-packaged, ensuring all components arrived in pristine condition. I’ve taken it around the neighborhood, tackling both uphill climbs and downhill descents. The scooter handles inclines up to 15° effortlessly, thanks to its robust 500W (Peak 819W) brushless hub motor. The ride is smooth and stable, even on uneven terrain, largely due to the 20” x 3” super-wide off-road tires that absorb shocks effectively. The braking system is particularly impressive. The 180mm dual disc brakes provide responsive and reliable stopping power, giving me confidence during rides. The LCD display is clear and informative, showing battery levels and speed, which helps me keep track of my rides. Key Specifications: • Motor: 500W (Peak 819W) brushless hub motor • Battery: 48V 7.8Ah lithium-ion battery • Top Speed: 20 MPH • Range: Up to 25 miles on a single charge • Tires: 20” x 3” super-wide off-road tires • Brakes: 180mm dual disc brakes • Max Load Capacity: 300 lbs • Charging Time: Approximately 4 hours Overall, the Caroma K4 offers exceptional performance, especially for riders of my size. This electric scooter is great for adults who need an easy way to get around or just a fun ride around the neighborhood. It goes up to 15 miles per hour and can travel long distance in one charge. The big tires make it smooth to ride, even on bumpy roads. I really love that it has seat and basket, which makes it more comfortable and useful. The battery charges fairly quickly, so I’m not waiting around too long before I can ride again. Overall, it's a reliable and convenient bike for everyday errands or leisurely trips. Read more

I don't have a car, and I needed a way to get to work. I've been looking for months for a scooter. I live 10 minutes from work. But getting home can be a chore. I have to go up a mile long hill. I needed a scooter that could handle that task. OMG! So excited and made it all the way up the hill. The seet in the back can double as storage for when I go shopping. Use a big bag and bungee cords. And also the basket in front. One of the best features of this scooter, it has cruise control. Once you get to the speed you want, push the cruise control button. And let go of the throttle. That's the trick for making it up the hill. Sure, it's slows down going up that hill. But, it never quit. Worth every penny! Read more
