Carpet Rake for Pet Hair Removal 4 in 1 Reusable Pet Hair Removal Tool Kit 50 Adjustable Long

I really had no idea what to expect when this pet hair removal kit was delivered. Online, it looked like the kind of thing that could either turn out to be worthwhile or, alternatively, equivalent to a flimsy and useless dollar store find that immediately gets tossed and makes me feel guilty for adding to the junk in our landfills. Fortunately, this little set is a revelation. I'm not kidding. Every item is well made, thoughtfully designed and works incredibly well for its distinct purpose. First, I mainly ordered this because of my long hair cat, Mango who likes to lie around on the rug in the living room. I can barely even remember what color the rug is supposed to be at this point. (just kidding). But every time the house cleaner comes, I'm reminded how much brighter it is without the gray sheen of cat hair on top. The house cleaner was here two days ago and I thought the rug looked bright and fresh again. I WAS WRONG. First I used to rubber rake like implement. I must admit, I put quite a big of elbow grease into my raking, but it paid off. Definite tufts of cat hair were coming off. The later, I started playing around with the other items. My long haired love bug was absolutely enamored with the glove. He let me pet him as long as I wanted to and then even came back for more. The glove is for getting up the loose hair on the animal so it's not intended to be a deep scrub or anything. And, it also worked! I collected what looked like a small amount of hair, until I took it off the glove and realized it was actually a not insignificant amount at all But now is when I tell you about the pièce de résistance, what the seller's description refers to as the "y-shaped pet hair remover". This comb type thing is a work horse! I first tried in on the couch and then I moved back to the rug. The amount of cat hair I got out of that rug was insane. (Actually, it's a little gross to think how much has been collecting there for multiple years) This little tool was a delight. And, because I'm a dork, I got immense satisfaction from scraping up the hair and then putting it in a pile. (I should have taken a photo, darn.) The other glove, that looks like tinfoil, is for getting hair off of clothes. I haven't used it yet, but it can't possibly be more frustrating that trying to pick single pieces of cat hair off my work pants and my sweaters one at a time. I'm looking forward to using it. Living with a Siberian husky mix there’s no shortage of long dog hair everywhere in the house, especially the rugs and carpets. I’ve tried dozens of tools for the problem but most are not up to the task. Those long hairs and fluff even defeat my Dyson getting caught and tangled up the rollers. So trying out this toolkit by Zgxhga was a no-brainer. I decided to try the carpet rake with the 50 inch handle first. It comes in five parts that screw together. There are four sections of tubing and a broom head that has a squeegee on one side and rows of rubberized teeth on the other. It’s versatile since you can adjust it using any number of sections you want; and unlike many of these types of tools that screw together, this one stays tight in use. I spent about an hour vigorously using the rake and it held together without ever coming loose. It worked well on my rugs to sweep up the top layer of hair and fluff. But the hero of this toolkit is the Y shaped hand tool. It’s the best of the bunch. If you’ve never tried one of these tools you’ll be amazed at how effective they are for getting out hair deeply embedded in rugs and carpets. To be a bit nick-picky about it, the Y shaped hand tool doesn’t have the teeth all the way to the ends of the tool where the metal bends, which means it won’t go all the way into corners. Others I’ve purchased have the grit covering the end. Nevertheless, it works great. I’d like to have this one bigger with the adjustable tubing to tackle larger areas. Using the small hand tool for my rugs will be back breaking after a while. The two types of gloves are good for brushing off furniture and clothes. One glove has two different rubberized textures to grab the loose hair (even directly off of the dog), and the other is like fine velcro that attaches to the hairs to sweep them up and works really well on clothes. This kit by Zgxhga is a good value for the four different tools at the current $25 price. I’ve seen the Y shaped hand tool from other vendors selling for that much alone. And the kicker is, that Y shaped tool alone is probably worth it. Read more

The only thing in this pack that didn't work that well, was the carpet rake. It got my hair up but not the cats. Everything else worked well. Our cats weren't huge on being pet with the glove but that is their problem not the product. Read more
