Im pretty impressed. I have an infinite that only supports apple devices with a usb-a connection, so i was using an FM transmitter that absolutely killed the bass to my system. Since my car wont support my phone without expensive wiring upgrades I was expecting to have a hard time with this. Once I paired the device and set the channel on the built in fm transmitter it basically set its self up and has perfect sound- where my old fm transmitter was just not making a good connection and sounded bad. This sounds like its a bluetooth or auxiliary connection even with the FM connection, it starts up fast - right up when I start my car. Great upgrade to my little factory screen. Low profile fit and design doesn't block my view, easy to set up, automatically starts maps and my Playlist within a few seconds of starting the car. This screen has exceeded expectations so far. I needed this to bring my kid’s old car into the 21st century by adding CarPlay, a backup camera, as well as front and rear dashcam functionality! All in one package. The installation is relatively easy. There is an instructional booklet and QR codes that will guide you as well as in-screen prompts for proper pairing There is plenty of slack in the power and rear camera cables to properly route them and hide them (with included tool) The screen is large and sensitive enough to not have to bash it for input The audio has Bluetooth AND 3.5mm audio (headphone jack) for the audio out! The dash cams are pretty good. They are responsive and the reverse view is easily adjustable The unit comes with an included 64gb sd card so it’s ready to use immediately I haven’t tried the screen mirror option but I’ll update when I do. UPDATE: Well we were wrong about this product. Initially I was having great luck with it as I used it primarily as carplay and navigation. Now that I've tried a few other features I've come to realize this product is so glitchy. By glitchy I mean there are a ton of connectivity issues. Mostly the issues arise with random carplay connections. About half the time the unit won't connect to my phone and run carplay as advertised. I keep getting these errors that ask me to reconnect bluetooth. The only solution o this is to unplug it and plug it back in. Then it will reconnect. Also, the Mirror Link Transmission just won't connect. I've tried multiple times to connect it to my apple 16 pro max and it will connect but will absolutely not mirror anything. Also the front facing camera, which was the second reason I bought this has it's own flaws. I have the unit directly on top of my dash and the camera still does not have the movement capability to properly adjust the camera for the field of vision ahead of us. It simply lacks the field of motion to aim it where I need it to be. All of these problems are a no go for me. I can't express how disappointed I am with this unit at this time. Previous initial comments: We purchased this item for a 2014 jeep Grand Cherokee that is too old to have car play built in and is too expensive to replace the built in screen, which controls all of the technology features of the car. It's really the only solution that we have for the vehicle. The design of the car lends itself to having almost no space for even a cup h older phone mount. I'd call it a poor design on behalf of jeep, even back in 2014 to not leave space for tech devices. With that being said, this is where I have the only complaint about this device, which is exacerbated by the vehicle design. The only place that makes sense to mount it is on the leather dash and on a section of it that slopes slightly down towards the occupants. This makes it difficult for the supplied sticker with the car place device to maintain a solid mount. The device constantly falls towards the occupants. I'm hoping the company will reach out with some sort of resolution so that I can fully enjoy the product. I'd give it 5 stars if it were not for this one issue because it really does operate car play as advertised and it's a seamless integration. There are tons of features but honestly, I would have bought it for car play only. It works that well and I actually only use the car play features. I'd recommend it for just about everyone except those that have similar vehicle configurations. Read more
