Having previously borrowed trekking poles from a friend, I knew that these would be very helpful on the trails I was planning to hike. But I pulled them out of the package and went to use them right away without reading instructions. Well, they kept collapsing on me. What I needed to do was tighten the nuts on the clips so that the clips would hold and keep the telescoped poles from collapsing. I struggled on the trail until I pulled out my car key and used the tip as a screwdriver to tighten the nuts. One good tightening and I was good for the rest of the trip. Moral of the story: read directions! But in all seriousness, I had to rely heavily on these poles and they served me very well on the trail. They gave me added strength and stability going up and down over rocks, boulders, stairs, and inclines. The poles are lightweight, easy to use, and they come in a travel pouch with all of the extra tips. I was hesitant to use trekking poles at first. Once I decided to give them a try, I looked for review videos on YouTube and a lot of videos mentioned these specific poles. I had never heard of them before but after watching the reviews, I decided to give them a try and I'm so glad I did. They make a huge difference in my hiking experience. It was nice to complete a hike without neck, shoulder, or knee pain. I honestly didn't even feel my backpack on my back when using these. I also felt like I could enjoy the sights more and not stare at the ground watching every step. These poles helped me to feel very balanced. The price is great. The poles feel very well made, are easy to adjust, and come with multiple attachments and a nice storage bag. Very happy with this purchase and will definitely be buying more in the future. To the point: solid, good secure flip locks, excellent quality control (both poles weigh exactly the same). I experienced none of the noise a couple of people reported when walking with them: perhaps that's a problem that's been solved. They weigh 10.2 oz (you'll see conflicting info on the Amazon page.) Both the cork and foam grips are goods quality and very secure. IMO, though, the straps are a bit of a disaster: can't make them small enough to use correctly in normal weather conditions, though they'd probably be OK in winter wearing mitts. I'd have vastly preferred straight unpadded straps. I just cut them off: I don't use them anyway except when snowshoeing and let's face it: at $30 a pair, I'll just get a dedicated set for that if I need them. This is the third set of walking sticks that I have ordered, the second from this company. I started nordic walking & recently my husband joined me. These walking sticks are really easy to adjust, lightweight, well made. I like that they have extra types of shoes sot he poles can be used for hiking, walking in the snow, etc. My husband uses one set, & I have another for when I travel. Highly recommend!!! Read more
These are nice trekking poles nice, light and sturdy. They are easy to retract/adjust. My daughter and I have used it multiple times now for our weekend hikes and they are helpful in keeping stable during steep descend and assist in getting leverage when going up hills. For the price they are great. Both my wife and I have bad backs and we used the Trekking pole in the National Parks out west. Here is a shot where my wife is holding the pole after a trek to Delicate Arch in Arches National Park. This trail is strenuous to the arch over 3-mile round trip 600 feet of elevation gain and not for the Cascade Mountain Tech Lightweight Trekking Poles we would not have made it to the arch. This trail climbs up a steep slickrock slope and the poles worked well. We also used it on other trails. The adjustment made it easy to adjust either going up or down a steep trail. They come with different tips and a carrying bag. They collapsed so we could put them in our suitcase for the trip home. I would recommend these poles. Read more

As I am working on balance challenges, I asked PT about trekking poles and got a very enthusiastic go ahead. So I did a herd of research on types of poles, handles, and extension mechanics. I settled on these and I'm quite pleased. In humidity, cork is definitely the way to go. I've tried a couple of the different tips (which are included in purchase) in varied terrains and so far so good. I appreciate how small the poles collapse and how easily they expand and lock. I'm even thinking of adding an extra day into my workout to focus on my fluency of arm swings once it cools down outside.
