superior craftsmanship.after years of looking at this knife at my local knife shop i finally pulled the trigger on amazon.I am an avid hunter and outdoors man and i have many knives to use for there appropriate use.I have been looking at a knife for deer field dressing and skinning purposes and wanted a old traditional look, not a newer modern looking that has no nostalgia.this knife fills that bill and more.though i had used gut hooks many times and i feel they are the best tool for a clean dressing of a deer.this knife arrived razor sharp(as with the gut hook) and the stainless blade is flawless in looks and craftsmanship.the leather stacked handle is absolutely beautiful and has a real look and feel opposed to others brands of the same looking knife.i have looked at other knives that look very similar to this but after handling all i felt the case hunter had the "realest" look and best craftmanship...by far.the only issue i have with this knife is the prices for them at retail stores.i saved $32 buying this off amazon opposed to many other stores in my area. have i used it yet?nope but i have no doubts it will work and be effective...why?because i will use this knife for what its intended for.this knife is not a bush craft, hammer, firewood processor or pry tool...its a Skinner for large game.when i am done dressing and skinning i will clean off, dry, oil blade and then treat the stacked leather with leather conditioner.I see that this knife is often collected and stored in a display box which is equally cool as using it but i thrive on a "used" but taken care of knife just like my USA made old timers.as the stainless starts to tarnish from real use it tends to give the knife that nostalgic look that screams history. The sheath is average and will last a lifetime, but the more i look at it i wish it were a darker color with the "Case" name on it.outstanding looking knife with an average sheath id say.if you are looking for a great looking knife with a real feel that is usa made then this knife is defiantly a dis player.if your looking for a traditional looking large game Skinner, made for years of use, then this is a great option as well.don't hesitate to buy something when financially you can swing it.if not you will spend years and years wishing until you do it...then that void is now filled and you can sleep at night. This little offering from Case is a great little knife. It’s overall 6.5” with a blade right at 3.1”. That makes for a very petite little knife overall that may be a stretch to fit comfortably into most adult hands. However in the hands of kid’s learning knife safety, it’s a great addition to the Case lineup. The value is there in the sense that the blade isn’t the best blade you’ll find - certainly no so called super steel here - but that no problem for what this knife is. It arrives sharp and the snap and fit on the leather sheath is positive. This is a functional little tool for small hands or children. Every tackle box deserves this little blade. The edge retention is unknown over time, but seemingly holds up. This blade is not for prying actions or other aggressive twisting tasks as the blade is not gonna hold up to that, nor was it designed to. If you use this little work of art for its intended purpose - it’ll serve you well. Read more

Very nice little blade. Perfect for EDC. I was disappointed in 2 things. First, it was pretty dull for a brand new out of the box knife. Nothing I couldn't fix with a few minutes on a stone but usually a brand new knife will shave hair, this couldn't. The sheath gets some getting used to. First it has a plastic insert that the blade should slip into that may take a few tries before it actually goes in. I'm considering trying to pull it out (if I can) but Idk if there would be any issues with the blade cutting the leather or it being too loose in the sheath. Read more

I love the knives knives. They are easily sharpened to a razors edge. I did, however, alter the small knife by grinding the pommel to match the contour of the large knife's handle. I also pushed the "mini's", hilt deeper into the sheath, past the opening. This facilitates a much slimmer profile an no contact between it's pommel and the handel of the larger knife. I also dyed the sheath with "saddle tan" dye and applied "Piccard" dressing to all the leather surfaces. This combo will now be a generational heirloom, just like the one my son's grandfather passed down to him, the original 3xx from the '60s. Read more

My father bought me this same model knife in the 80’s after my first hunt. I bought and gave two of these to a friends kids after their first hunt. The knives were sharp, polished, and ready to use for decades to come. Read more
