Casio G-Shock Mens GW9400-1B Digital Watch Black

This watch does everything that it’s showing to do, I have the pink version that came from Japan that was $700 it’s the same watch as this one and I got this one for work, this watch I believe I paid $320 for plus tax and it works flawlessly It has a barometer, compass, altimeter, it has everything and everything works plus the nice part is it is solar powered and you don’t need to replace batteries they’ll last for probably 10 years if you take care of it and then those batteries at that point can still be replaced but after 10 years you might want another one I know $300 for a watch sounds like a lot of money but it’s so much more than just a time piece and they’re rugged as hell I’ve used these watches from G-Shock for decades and they just keep getting better and better, the reason the pink one was so expensive is because it was a limited edition from Japan and they offered those in a couple of rare colors and I just liked the dark pink and so my wife bought it for my birthday and surprised me but for work I prefer black The case and the band are black but it’s not a shiny black it’s a flat black, the face is black behind the crystal and the numbers are dark in the data but you can still read them easily, I like the automatic light where you just hold the light button down for three seconds and then it puts it in auto mode and hold it another three seconds and it turns it back to manual mode sometimes at night it’s nice to have it on automatic because when you rotate your wrist forward and then rotate it back where you can read the time the light comes on for one second or three seconds which you can adjust as well this watch is amazing nobody makes a heavy duty watch better than Casio Read more

In a world where everything looks the same. TV's, cars, fast food restaurants, Smart phones and SMART WATCHES. No thank you, I'll stick with digital g-shocks. The one on the left lasted me 20 years, took a beating and still ticking. On the right is the Rangeman GW-940-1b which I just purchased, and I'm optimistic it'll last at least 10 years. G-shock is tough and fitting for blue collar men. This watch is a good size for my wrist. I'm a big dude 6'2. A small watch would look horrible on my wrist, but this one looks big, tough, and extremely durable. Planning on having it on my wrist for years to come until I retire, and hopefully pass it on to the next generation. Although it is a great watch I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because do to the negative display it is a little difficult to see indoors or in dim light conditions. As a result I ended up exchanging it for the same watch with the positive display to be able to see it better. Read more

I think the only thing I didn't really like about this piece was it doesn't have a step counter. Outside of that I really do appreciate the style and the simplicity of the display. It is light weight for the size. I have never been someone to wear a watch due to having to change batteries. Or with the smart watches having to charge every few hours and not able to wear it when charging sigh defeats the purpose of a watch. But this watch's battery should last I believe around 10 years and even though it is on the larger side it still manages to blend well into whatever you wear it is very understated and that is what I appreciate about it the fact that it isn't a flashy piece screaming look at me I love the matte finish of the case and strap. Its hard to find highly functional piece that isn't Bluetooth or a smart watch. The fact that you can have multiple useful functions without having to worry about a source of charging the watch is nice. Even though it is considered a man's piece it still can be worn on a smaller wrist and doesn't look out of place on a female. As I am not into smaller pieces for women they are usually more casual to dress watches but not durable for an active life style. I'm not hard on my things but I don't want a time piece that I have to constantly be aware of. When it comes to day to day activity and one that I have to be reminded of to treat with exceptional care and having to take off just to wash my hands rinse dishes for the dishwasher or even to take a shower I wanted and needed a piece that I can put on forget about until I need it. Got this as a gift for our son, who was in ROTC and is now active duty. It has survived unknown trauma in both, but guaranteed he doesn't baby it. A couple of years later, he still loves it and is still wearing it daily. He says the functions are pretty overwhelming, but likely they will come in handy the more he gets into his duties. It has thrived living in diverse climates, from hot and humid to freezing cold and dry, mud, swimming, and dust. One thing we did learn, trekking through FL swamps- remove it before using bug spray. The band got slightly pitted from that, being plastic, but according to the wearer it just adds to the "lived-in" look, and its functioning was not a bit affected. It sometimes didn't immediately update the time as it should (tested by crossing many time zones), but apparently it's simple to update manually. Would definitely recommend as gift for anyone with military inclinations, or anyone who loves a watch that does a lot of stuff and is tough. Read more

It's some kind of horror, not a watch display that's so awful that it can't be conveyed. You have to twist your hand to catch what time the clock is showing now, even with the backlight, it is very difficult to see during the day, in the dark, the backlight saves. And besides, in the photos, the seller put up beautiful clear photos, but in reality, everything is not so. Everything is dull and dark on the scoreboard. Read more
