I have had a lamp exactly like this on my desk for several years. When the pull chain jammed, I fixed it. But a few months later it jammed again and the light began to flicker and make a shorting out noise. It was getting old and I thought it best to replace it. Trouble was, no local stores carried anything like this, or even, in my opinion, anything as good. So, I checked on Amazon, found this one that is almost identical to my old one, and I ordered it. It took a a while longer than I expected (about 3 - 4 weeks), but it did get here, packed well and safe. It requires some simple assembly, but nothing difficult. I put in a 60 watt low energy bulb, and I now have light again on my desk. If this lamp works and lasts as long as my old one, I will be more than satisfied. Read more
