I actually took out my new radio/cd player and reinstalled the OEM original so that I could use this great mount. It is very sturdy and incredibly easy to set in. The ball joint fits my mounting device perfectly and adjustment is very simple. It put our reversing cam screen exactly when it should be and still doesn't block using the radio. Recommended! Used this to mount a Carpuride Carplay unit instead of replacing my old tech Pioneer head unit. It turned out great, putting the Carplay unit in the perfect position for access while driving. It has enough grip to hold the low profile 10.25x3.75 inch unit steady but I would be cautious about anything much heavier (3.28lbs). Very stable and can swing enough to be used by driver or passenger. It is also nice that it can be flipped to raise or lower the display to avoid dash control panels. I love it! Read more
My wife has a 2015 Subaru Forester that was her first car and she loves and refuses to get rid of, and I keep dumping money into to keep it running. One of the drawbacks of such an old car is how expensive it is to install a modern double DIN Apple carplay head unit. The head unit themselves are fairly inexpensive. It's the wiring harnesses that you need to make sure the steering wheel buttons work with the head unit, and the backup camera. I found this Apple carplay USB head unit thing. You basically plug it into the audio cable inlet of her car, and find a place to put the screen. It worked great until we had kids, and she wanted a child camera for the backseat. But he didn't want the camera, and that screen blocking up her entire windshield at this point. I saw this on Amazon, it just sits in the CD player, and you spin the bottom until it tightens up. And then the screen mounts to it. It works perfectly. My girl is very happy with it, and I didn't have to spend $1,000 on a brand new Apple carplay head unit. Read more
Nice and very sturdy in my 14 Civic. Only wish the knob was from the top. It hangs in front of my radio screen. Sturdy check, easy to install. Read more
Doesn’t slip or slide. It’s the only thing I’ve found that works for my CarPlay. Highly recommend Read more
Incredibly sturdy and one month later no issues. I highly recommend. Although if you have a previous infotainment system that uses a rear view camera, you may want to use the mount upwards so you can still back out. Alternatively, if you have a backup camera with your portable screen, you should connect it. Read more
Installed in a 2011 Toyota Highlander. Easy install and would have given 5 stars except that the screen resolution quality when using maps gps. Dull not crystal clear screen. Backup camera not clear either. I purchased a CD player holder separately and worked out just fine. Read more
