I wanted to buy a flute for a long time but the high prices were a problem for me. This type of intruments are a saver for people like me that want to try the instrument to see if it's for you or not without paying a lot. The flute come in a nice case with a lot of accessories including a little music but with tunes and fingers which is nice. The quality of the flute is nice and the keys fill well made and move easily. Mine didn't have any leaks in the key but it can not be the case for everyone but a least is an easy fix. Small problem that I had was that I needed to use the cork grease even though a lot of professional say you should not, but it was necessary because I couldn't put the flute together without the cork grease. It sounds nice but I can't talk to much about it because it is literally my first time putting my hands on a flute 100% recommended. Read more

Great inexpensive flute! It's perfect for beginners (or someone who knew someone who played flute back in the day - and you yourself want to get into it). No problems, everything lines up. All the keys work, more especially, the pads are solid and seal tightly - whew! (Trick: go into a darkened room - even a closet - with a very dim light from somewhere. Hold down all the keys and peer into the flute like looking through a magnifying glass. You should see NOTHING but blackness. Any *hint* of stray light from anywhere within the flute, and the pads are no good or not sealing). This flute by Cecilio is well made, and a fantastic bargain for a starter flute for anyone wanting to play! No, this is NOT a $1000 Gemeinhardt professional flute. Not even close... The Cecilio open hole C-foot is an outstanding value for a mass-produced flute. Tones responsive and clear from c1 to Bb3; high notes b3 and above are unreliable. Surprising pianississimo (very, very soft) to strong fortissimo. Lacks the heft and sturdy feel of other name-brand introductory flutes, possibly due to use of thinner spec materials. Silver plating is quite good; small wrinkles noted on the key Y-arms, but only under close inspection. Interior bore is polished. Joint tenons and sockets a bit gritty out-of-the-box, but a little rubbing with a silver polishing cloth nicely smooths out the feel. Head joint cork required placement adjustment; a simple, basic task. Read more

After a year of heavy use my Cecilio is still mint. The pads seal and it sounds beautiful. A pro-level flute? Perhaps not, but for $60 this intrument is perfect! I would happily buy another which encourages me to leave my flute out on the stand for ease of play. (Don't do that, the intrument can and will tarnish. Clean this flute meticulously to keep it shiny.) I can sustain a C4 but anything above G3 is unstable. Be aware of this limitation and enjoy the octaves you can control. Read more
