We bought a new home two years ago, but it seems like all the lighting is just so generic looking and I’m sure it’s in other homes just like this so that was the one thing I asked that my husband do and change out the light fixtures and though he’s not an electrician, he has done a fantastic job for me. He makes sure that he Does a lot of research before he. Does something so he has so far pull up to pendant lights one large light over the island really neat light in our one bathroom with deer on it, a light where the smaller bathroom is and then he did one in the hallway, which is the one that is nearly the same as this one yet it is a bit bigger. This is the perfect one for what would be a smaller bedroom, but what I use for a craft room so this is the next project he’s going to be doing for me and let me point out that he is 71 years old and does a fantastic job when he does any type of home improvement. I don’t just want the light fixture for it looks I also want it because it has an open look and the light will be brighter for me to be able to work with the small items that I do. I have a small home business making dollhouse furnishings and foods and I’m talking about doll house that grown-ups build. So he’ll be putting this up for me after the holidays and when winter is here and staying home, she seems to be more of what we do and grab it and go places. Installation was easy for me since I’ve done light fixtures before, but if you don’t have any experience, getting an electrician or contractor is definitely the safer way to go. I installed this in the kitchen ceiling of my manufactured home, and it was a nice upgrade from what I had before. The build quality is good — it feels sturdy — and I’ve been using it for a little over a month now with zero issues. One thing I really like is that it holds two bulbs. My previous fixture only used one, so having the extra brightness makes a big difference in the kitchen. I’m using white LED bulbs because I prefer them, though the clear/transparent ones do look nicer with this style if that’s your thing. We originally had an awkwardly placed low hanging chandelier in our kitchen that people were constantly bashing their heads on so we opted to install more of a flush mounted light in its place. This one does a pretty decent job with illuminating the area and was fairly easy to install. One person could probably do it on their own, but it was nice having an extra pair of hands to hold it in place while I made sure the wires were connected and tucked up into the mount while installing it.
