So far so good

This was a system I bought to replace my elderly desktop which was a decade old. Centaurus did not charge my credit card until the item shipped, which I thought was decent of them. The item came reasonably well packed with no damage. Booted with no issues and I was glad to see only the base OS and minimal apps; no trial versions of things or other crapware to remove. I was impressed with the neatness of the build, with unused power connectors tucked away. I didn't realize the case had a completely blank steel face with no way to add a DVD drive or anything else, which is my fault for not examining it more closely, and not a deal breaker, as I have a BD-RW USB3 drive. The PC is quiet and competent and seems stable. Looking forward to doing some light to moderate gaming on it and perhaps some VR, possibly with a video card upgrade, which there is plenty of room for. I got exactly what I ordered and if more vendors delivered that, the world would be a better place. Seems to have quality if unremarkable components. I've used ASUS motherboards in personal builds for the last 15 years or so and have not been disappointed. Was a bit surprised that the board used did not include Wi-Fi or BlueTooth natively. Centaurus did include a USB Wi-Fi adapter. Overall I don't much care as I run a wired connection and have a few BT USB adapters if I need this. My only real complaints would be that the HDMI port on the motherboard is a bit finicky and may be somewhat damaged. I had to wiggle the cable around to get a display on my 2nd monitor, which was not the fault of the cable. And the case, while decently appointed with ports, feels a bit cheap. The USB ports seem to be a bit either very tight or too wiggly. But overall I'll give Centaurus a 4.5 out of 5 on this. This is the first PC I've purchased instead of built in almost 2 decades. There are a lot of people selling PCs on Amazon and elsewhere, but I would recommend Centaurus. And I am an IT professional by trade. Update--- Have had this several months now with zero problems or complaints. Read more
