Per the wife: The only negative I come up with is the slightly strange odor. I actually don’t think of any of the CeraVe products as having a noticeable odor, if they have one at all, so that’s why I think this is strange. It’s not pleasant, but only exists while washing your face—I’ll definitely keep using it because the odor isn’t strong and I can put up with it (I raised two boys and currently have three cats, so it’s not the worst smell that I’ve had to endure by far). On the great side, the consistent quality of a CeraVe product is all there. My skin feels clean but not stripped or tight. A good deal of foam comes out at one time so you get your money’s worth. It’s more expensive than some brands but less expensive than your luxe alternatives, but I find you get more than you pay for with this brand and its products because they all appear to absolutely work, at least on my combination, oily t-zone, sensitive, mid-50s skin. It looks like Amazon’s AI checked “makeup removal” below but I didn’t mention it at all. I’ve only used it on a bare face so I have no idea. I’ve been using CeraVe products off-and-on for several years due to my adult onset eczema on my hands and face, which is not currently active. I love this cleanser. For the first time in my life I have found something that helps my skin. I am 47 and have always had extremely oily skin. Let me tell you this has drastically changed the texture and oiliness of my skin. The CeraVe has a light scent with foamy action. I will buy again more than likely will put on subscription. CeraVe had (or have) a gel presentation that gets foamy once applied, but this foam works somehow better, my face is quite oily. Maybe they have improved the formula. I do need to wash 3 times a day and it leaves my face feeling fresh, not dry and it gets rid of the oil for a few hours (with the right moisturizer applied after the wash), in my case it is not 8 hrs (I can only wish).
