I bought Chacos because they have a really good footbed in their sandals. Same for these boots! I initially wanted a slip- on, and ordered both the laced and slip-on, but the slip-on order was cancelled just a few days before my trip and I couldn't get a replacement anywhere. These boots are very sturdy and very comfortable, because they have very good arch support. I have wide feet and the width was just right. I walked for 3 weeks in them on my vacation and never had a problem. I did spray a few light layers of waterproof spray on them but I'm not sure they needed it. They still look like new after 3 weeks of continual use. I would definitely buy these again. Read more
I've had a beloved pair of Chaco ankle boots for years and decided it was time to look for a new pair. (Old on right, new on left.) My new pair has heavier, lug soles but still has wonderful arch support and a generous, not sloppy toe box and forefoot area that I want. (As for size, I wear 39-40 Birks, and these are 9 Chacos.) The thing that stands out to me is the elasticized sections of the ankle cuff that give without being loose. I wore these all day right out of the box with medium weight socks. The leather seems weatherproof but I'll also spray with waterproofing to help head off salt stains/damage this winter. They are heavier but easy to wear and love. They are true lace-up boots, which I prefer to "lace-ups" with inner ankle zippers that gouge my legs. Glad I got them. Read more
Nice boots, fit well but must apply waterproof after purchase Read more
Another Chaco Keeper! Initially I tried them on with too thin of a sock and I thought they might rub, but as soon as I switched to my Darn Tough hikers they were an immediate keeper. The arch support is amazing as with all my Chacos (boots, sandals, slippers) so happy to add these to my collection! For some, the toe box might be a little narrow but fit me perfectly. I ordered a size 6.5 true to size. Read more
These felt so uncomfortable on my feet. There is a large lump In The middle of each boot (not the arch). The actual quality of the boot seems good, but I couldn’t even walk in them. Read more
I'm buying the other color immediately! These boots are wonderful! I wore them to a 2 day music festival right out of the box and had no issues at all and they felt broken in within an hour. They saved my feet on big gravel and rock paths. They are a bit heavy but not so heavy they make your legs ache. They have removable insoles so I can use my orthotics with these. Photo is of my happy feet on day 2 of a dusty festival fairgrounds location. Read more
Great at first. Wore around the house, for errands, short stints to break them in. Wore them hiking (slight inclines) and my heels had terrible blisters. I would not recommend these as hiking shoes or for long walks. Read more
