I purchased the Sallous Clear Office Chair Mat for my home office, and it’s been a fantastic upgrade. The mat is crystal clear, so it blends seamlessly with my hardwood floor without distracting from the room’s look. It’s thick enough to feel sturdy under my chair, yet flexible enough to lay flat quickly after unrolling. What I love most is how smoothly my chair glides across it—no resistance, no slipping, and no annoying noise. It’s also doing a great job protecting my tile and wood floors from scuffs and wear caused by daily rolling. The anti-slip backing keeps it firmly in place, even during long work sessions. No odor, no curling edges, and no discoloration over time. Sallous really nailed the balance between durability and design. If you're looking for a reliable, clear mat that protects your hard floors and keeps your workspace looking clean and professional, this one’s a winner. Read more
I'm writing this review as I'm looking to replace this mat. It lasted 2 years in total. It's installed in my home office that I use pretty much every day at least for a few minutes. (Not work from home - not all day). I remember it being tricky to lay flat but it eventually was fine. After about 1.5 years, the edges started to occasionally catch the chair as it went from the carpet to the mat. This is a pretty good mat all in all, and I would recommend. Comparably, it seems to be reasonably priced. As for the current state, It's currently cracking along the pin lines and some bits are cracking off. This only started about a month or two ago. It works fine. My wife has one we bought at the same time and hers does not have these cracks. I believe it's because I'm heavier, because she's definitely on it more than I am. Read more
Again another stupid and cheap solution to solve a problem. We have hard wood floors. This item is a large piece of clear plastic. It replaced a fancier pad in front of my son’s computer desk. It is really simple but it works. Now that I have it, I’d appreciate an even larger piece. I have purchased two of these pads for different places in my home. Read more
I received this mat quickly as others have said, however that is the only thing that matches the description. The mat is not clear, it is more translucent than clear. This is not a major issue, but not what I expected or wanted. The main problem I have is that it is too soft for a chair to roll on it. Even on my very low pile carpet, the chair causes dips in the mat. When trying to move in the chair, it is basically stuck and requires more energy/force to move the chair on the mat than it does on the carpet. The basic functionality of the mat is to protect the carpet and make it easier to use a chair, however it does this very poorly. This mat is not worth the money spent on it is a very poor value for the money spent. Also, as others have mentioned, it is still rolling up on the ends despite heavy objects sitting on it for well over the suggested time frame. I regret purchasing it. I would attempt a return but there is no way I could roll it back up in the box, so it will just be thrown away. Such a waste of my money. Read more
The mat looks fine but it is either is too thin or the material it is made of is not strong enough for the job. The weight of a normal (weight) 5-wheeled rolling chair when occupied quickly leaves substantial dents in the plastic mat. The dents make it difficult to roll the chair out of the indentation under each wheel. Even an unoccupied chair leaves small indentations under each wheel. Once moving, the chair also seems to have higher than normal resistance to rolling. I have used this chair for several years without experiencing these problems. Read more
It was the perfect size. It was a little difficult to unroll because it was cold. It is great. Read more
So this mat came in a roll. I know that's the easiest way to ship these, but I think it should have given me caution. The mat is simply too flexible and thin. My chair with "rollerblade style" wheels sinks right into it and makes divots in the mat, making it difficult for me to move the chair and roll around while I'm sitting in it. The mat is clear and you can see through it well, but I think the side effect of that is the thinness. If you're looking for something with flexible material that rolls out easy, or if you're an incredibly lightweight person, I think this could be an okay choice, but for me it's simply not stiff enough. Durability-wise, I'm not sure since I only started using it. It seems durable enough initially. Overall, this mat wasn't expensive out of all the choices, but I think that's for a reason. The other thing too is even after a week of leaving it rolled out, the mat still has a little bit of the "fried bacon" effect from being rolled up. I imagine I could hit it with a hair dryer or heat gun a little bit, but that shouldn't be necessary. The little grippers seem to work OK. Read more
