Is very thick for our high pile carpet. Was a challenge to unroll even after 24 hours. Have had small rugs and bricks on it for a week and it is still not flat. Just send it flat and charge a little extra please. Update: even after 3 weeks continue to use bricks to get the edges to stay down. Directions say - put in sun, use a hair dryer or put weights on it. Winter temps not above 45, don't want to damage with a hair dryer, 2 40lbs. weights have been used in different areas of it for more than 3 weeks. Now have to decide in the next day to return or not. Has been a headache but, is there a better option? Third and final update. Blood, sweat and tears of joy getting this thing coiled backup and sent back. Used a couple ratchet straps, old tarp pieces and returned to sender. Felt that the one i got was old and the memory on the plastic was just not going to go straight again after being coiled up so long. The thiner ones might be easier but this took its toll. I thought about just throwing it away but, the seller never reached out or responeded so they can deal with it now. Read more

I bought one of these about 10 YEARS ago. Daily use has it developing cracks that affect chair movement. I did my research reading reviews of all the mats for carpet. Most of them are too soft and result in divots making chair difficult to start moving. I did not want to have the same result. I, once again, wanted what had worked for so long. My research found me this one. I could tell by the size, pattern and the cleats this was the exact one. The price went up a lot since 10 years ago, but what hasn't. I read all the reviews about the difficulty of getting it unrolled. Do yourself a BIG FAVOR and put it in the bathtub with hot water. In 15 minutes it laid COMPLETLY FLAT all on its own. All the material needs is warmed up to relax. Sure, a hot driveway can do that but HOT WATER, in the tub is, much faster. Read more
Works well but a pain to flatten out. Read more
After trying several mats previously, this chair mat has exceeded my expectations. My desk is in a room with thicker carpet, and it is almost impossible to find a mat that works with it. The material of this mat is thick, which allows my chair to have stability to roll on. It takes a couple of days for the mat to flatten out from shipping, but it works well right out of the box. Great value for great quality! Read more
Only had the mat for two day so other reviews might follow but so far I like this mat. I see others have had issues with getting it to flatten but I did not. Fortunately I purchased it in the summer heat. I opened and pulled it out of the box and and let it sit in my driveway for 30 minutes. Then I was able to unroll it easier. I then laid it in the back of my truck and after just 30 more minutes it was lying flat. Brought it inside and it's been fine ever since. It is thick enough and with the grippers on the bottom it hasn't moved. I think it is of good quality so far. Read more
If you buy this mat, make sure you have two pretty strong people around to unroll it! This mat is made of a really nice, thick, heavy vinyl, which I really like. BUT, it comes rolled up pretty tightly in a box. I tried unrolling it myself without any luck, as you need at least four hands. Two hands to hold down the first two corners, and two more to pull open the rest of the roll. Once it was unrolled, it wanted to roll back up right away, so I placed every dumbbell I had all over it, and let them sit for 48 hours. It was all wavy once I removed them, so we took it out to our lanai, hoping the warm sun would soften it enough to flatten it, but no luck there either. I have to mention that it was no easy task to get it out there, as it's pretty heavy in a very awkward way. I finally gave up and put it back in my study, hoping with time it will relax. It's been in here for about two weeks now, and as you can see from the photos, it is still wavy, enough so that I trip on that front edge regularly. Also, because it isn't lying flat, the little grippy teeth aren't hardly connecting with the carpet, so it moves all the time and I have to pull it away from the furniture every day or it curls up against them. If it weren't so obnoxious to handle, I'd return it, because it wasn't cheap. Next time I buy one of these mats, I will definitely get one that is shipped flat! Read more

On one hand, the material IS very thick and stiff, so much so that it took a couple days to finally get fully unrolled and flattened out, but when I sit on my normal office chair on this thing on the maybe 3/4" pile carpet, the wheels really DO sink deep into it, and it takes some shoving and grunting to get the chair to move out of the sink holes the wheels have settled into. I want to avoid the hassle of a return, but really, it is a struggle to roll around in the chair on this thing... A piece of 5/8 plywood would work better honestly. Read more
