Actually this is my second ChangBERT induction cooktop, I gave the first one to my mom, But I realized I just couldn't live without this little boy, so I bought this again .works really well. Sturdy stainless steel construction, good match in my kitchen, high-end choice literally. With ChangBERT unit, I’ve found it works exactly as expected once you understand how it’s meant to be used. As with any cooktop, I avoid heating an empty pan. Simply preheat the proper cookware for a moment, it heats up really fast, and then adding oil or ingredients first makes a big difference and keeps everything cooking smoothly. Used this way, temperature control will be more accurate and reliable, whether I’m holding a gentle simmer or cooking at higher heat. In TEMP mode, it adjusts automatically when I add cold ingredients. The heat ramps back up quickly, then settles right in again, so I don’t have to keep adjusting the settings. The larger heating coil really helps when using bigger pans. I often cook with a 10-inch skillet, and the heat reaches out toward the edges instead of just blasting the center. When making things like omelets, steaks or salmon, everything cooks at the same pace without me having to constantly move the pan around and comes out. Highly recommend!!!! Read more

When my husband and I started looking into upgrading our kitchen, after a bit more learning about the induction technology and searching reviews, we found ChangBERT, it seemed like a great deal and a good way to test out the technology, but honestly, it delivers far more than I expected for the price. I love making breakfast with my wide skillet, cooking eggs evenly across the entire surface, the heat reached way past the center, even around the edges, so the coil is definitely not the small kind people worry about, real 8-inch coil as advertised, nice heat distribution. Controlling the temperature accurately, heat stays gentle and steady, perfect for omelets or pancakes. Then when I switch to HEAT mode, it ramps up quickly for boiling or searing. Water for pasta or coffee comes to a full boil in seconds. A few reviews mentioning noise, but after using it myself, just low noise while it runs, sometimes the huming is from the cookware I think. For something at this price, the performance has been amazing. We went in just hoping to “try out” induction, but now we use it more than our gas stove. Read more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I first bought a different model from this brand about two years ago to use for outdoor cooking in the backyard—it worked great and held up well. So when I needed another one last year, I went with their updated version. I’ve been using it almost every day for the past year, and it’s still going strong. Now I’m thinking about getting a third one for my parents. They prefer something quiet and easy to use, and this fits the bill—especially since it’s flameless and safer than a gas stove. .Honestly, I didn’t realize how quiet it was until I saw what my friends were using. Some other brands make this high-pitched noise when running—it gets annoying fast. This one is barely noticeable even when cooking for a while. Perfect for my folks. Another thing I really like is the control panel. This model uses real push buttons instead of a touch screen, which is a big plus when buying for older family members. Many seniors feel unsure about touch panels—they often worry whether the controls will respond, especially if their fingers are dry, or if the panel is too sensitive. Physical buttons give clear feedback and are much easier to trust. It just performs simple. A few weeks ago, I had hot pot at a friend’s house, and their induction burner really struggled to bring the soup back to a boil after adding frozen ingredients—it took quite a while. That reminded me how well this one performs—mine heats back up quickly and doesn’t make you wait around. After a full year of use, it still looks clean and new. The flat glass surface is easy to clean, and unlike the plastic cooktops that start to look old. I am thinking to buy the second one during Prime Day with a deal. But honestly, even without the discount, I still think it’s totally worth the price. Read more

Love the name: ChangBert. Wanted to keep it just for the name! This is not a bad induction hot plate by the current standards for induction hot plates; price, quality, function-although as far as quality goes this thing is in the realm of maybe, maybe not. These things are replete with failures; lots of brands. It seems to me that for people who want to “sear” meat forget it; go outside and build yourself a fire because you are going to kill your hot plate trying to max the thing. Temperature control stinks, I think they all do. They tend to overshoot bye a mile, at least before your pan is hot, then cut back. The machine can only read the temperature through the glass so get over it. Or spend an outrageous amount of money and maybe… The cooking ring on this appliance IS larger than my D’top, however not as large as advertised. The unit IS quiet, so hallelujah on that. The reason for the return is lack of “grunt.” My first impression was that it did not boil water as quickly or maintain a rolling boil (at least with large pots of water which is one of the reasons you buy these things). A medium boil I would say that took 20 to 30% longer than my equivalent wattage D’top. However the fan noise on my D-top unit is ridiculous, like microwave ridiculous. However, more grunt and I wear hearing protection. Maybe that noisy fan keeps the thing from frying; time will tell. Close, ChangBERT, close. For intimate hot pots this thing is probably the bomb because at least one can have a conversation while it operates. For those who want to “can,” use a pressure cooker, or make beer, or cook corn, lobster, move on. Or, make a liar out of me. Not a bad machine, it’s just that I thought it could replace my current appliance that theoretically could last ten years, however the odds are against such longevity. Cheers! Read more
