I picked this up as an upgrade to my older portable burner. Its performance has been better than expected, brings 1QT of water to a rolling boil in 5 minutes, super powerful, for everyday cooking tasks. I love the simple control layout, really practical, buttons are easy to use and wipe clean. Temperature control is accurate, excellent, especially when setting low power level, like simmering. It also runs quieter than my previous unit. Customer service has been responsive and helpful as well. Overall, very solid upgrade, highly recommended!! Read more

It's good! Larger than I expected, compared with the similarly-priced products like Duxtop. I really like that it has actual buttons, which are intuitive to use and work well. The coil is larger than the Duxtop that I looked at, I measured around 7". Other comments mention noise - there's two types of noise. One is the fan, which isn't too loud or bothersome, and there's also a bit of a high-pitched electric noise, but this is only noticeable at high power. It also differs depending on different pans I've tried, and there's almost no perceptible electric noise at all with some of them. Overall, I love the ability to put out high heat fast and adjust the temperature with instant feedback after years of using a glass-top electric stove. I'd recommend this to anyone considering getting one of these. This one is more powerful and nicer compared with all the other flat-button designs I've seen despite being close to them in price. we're redoing our kitchen right now and can't use the gas stove for about a month, so I needed a compact induction cooktop to handle daily meals, especially with kids at home, and this one's been a great solution. I've been using it almost every day to cook for the family. first thing I noticed: it heats up fast. The heat mode is clearly made for quick cooking. when I need to boil water, I just hit the boil button, it jumps to 1800W and gets going in just a few minutes. Super handy on busy weeknights when I don't have time to wait. Temp mode heats a bit slower than heat mode, but I think that's on purpose- to keep things from burning. It's really helpful for stuff that needs steady, lower heat, like simmering stew or melting chocolate. I've made a bunch of different meals with it, and switching between Heat and Temp to keep it gently simmering. Same when I steam veggies, heat to boil then Temp to keep the steam just right without overdoing it. The fan's nice and quiet too, so it doesn't drive me crazy while I'm cooking. All in all, it's easy to use, easy to clean, feels sturdy, and performs well. Definitely worth it so far. Read more

Very happy with my purchase, and it looks very sleek in my kitchen. I put it right on top of my glass top stove, and I leave it out all the time. I absolutely love the rectangle shape of this, way better than the round ones that I have had in the past! I also love the fact that it is not too tall. It really helps to not have a unit that looks clunky like the round ones do. I have been used to induction cooking in the past and so I’m very familiar with how to cook with it. I knew that the temperature adjustment was in 20° increments when I bought it, but I have found with some items it’s difficult to keep it exactly where I want to have something simmer slowly. But that is not the fault of the unit. I just wish that it had 5° or 10° increments. But it functions really well, and it is very quiet. Super happy about that! Easy to use the button controls, and the pan heats up immediately so for those that are not used to induction that may be a learning curve for them. Overall, very happy with my purchase other than the fact of the 20° increment heat control. Read more

I field-tested the ChangBERT Portable Induction Cooktop with a simple water boil test using my COLETTI Bozeman Induction Coffee Maker percolator (9-cup capacity) filled with 9 cups of water. It brought the water to a full boil in an impressive 8 minutes—super fast and efficient! The unit itself is lightweight and easy to handle, which is perfect for my RV setup where it won't see heavy daily use. One small concern: the power cord feels a bit lightweight/thin for the energy it draws (1800W), so I'll keep an eye on it over time. For comparison: I also tested a round NuWave Gold portable induction unit with the same 9 cups of water—it took a disappointing 18 minutes to boil, so I returned it immediately. In my home kitchen, the identical test on my commercial-grade American range with 16,000 BTU gas burners took 10 minutes. Overall, I'm really impressed with induction cooking's speed and performance—especially on the ChangBERT. It's a solid, reliable choice for portable cooking in an RV, camping, or as a backup burner. Great efficiency without the heat buildup of gas! Read more
