The other night my cable/internet carrier had an outage during the World Series! I had to listen to the rest of the game on the radio. The next night, the cable company had ANOTHER outage during the next World Series game and again I was forced to listen to the rest of the game on the radio. I went online the next morning and found some lists of the best indoor TV antennas. Up until now I've now had any luck with them at all. The Channel Master FLATenna was #1 on one of the lists and at $35 I decided to give it a try. This model has no additional power source. It's just a legal size paper sized flat surface with a cable you attach to the bottom and then to the antenna output in back of any TV (yes, even the 2025 flagship smart TV's have 'em). After attaching both ends of the cable and then putting the flat sheet antenna on the wall behind my TV, I turned the set on and found the correct things to click to automatically "find" all of the over the air TV signals this antenna could detect. I now have quite a lot of channels including all of the local network stations (CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX) along with quite a few others and I have to say; the picture is AMAZING!!! This antenna just pulls them all in. I'm pretty near a major city so I don't know how well this antenna would work for people living in out of the way places but I have to say, I am SUPER impressed by the ease of setting this up and by the quality of the signal. No longer will I have to be subjected to various intermittent failures of my cable company's signal. Yes, I'm keeping the provider BUT this antenna has given me a failsafe backup in case of future signal failures, which WILL occur. I cannot be happier with my purchase. This is a great indoor TV antenna for a back up OR if you don't wish to spend on cable any longer, it provides excellent display quality if not the vast array of cable stations a carrier offers. I'm going to watch the rest of the World Series using THIS over the air connection just in case. The picture quality is so good there's no reason not to and only a total power outage will ruin my enjoyment of the series. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Channel Master FLATenna!!! Read more
Guess What? This Channel Master antenna is worth every single penny you pay for it. It brings in so many channels, including the very finicky PSB channel here in the city. And, it doesn't use one of those annoying amplifier things. I appreciate the fact I can connect my own coax cable to it if I want white and also there are tiny holes at all four corners of the antenna to mount with push pins if you don't wish to use the included sticky pads. But what sets this antenna apart from all the dozen others I've tried here in my city is the heavy-duty, shielded cable included. This means the signal from the actual antenna, going to the TV is strong, without interference from electrical currents in the wall, or around outlets, or the power cable at the back of the TV. This makes the difference. Think of the size of elbow macaroni in mac and cheese and spaghetti. The larger the cable means more insulation from interence so you get the strongest signal possible. My Samsung TV is 2 years old, 4K/UHD, and the picture is even better, almost 3D, with this Channel Master deluxe OTA antenna. Bravo to the manufacturer and thanks. Read more
It works well if it's placed in an optimal position with stronger signal reception. It picked up about 50 stations but many of those said "no signal" or had a signal too weak to get a good picture. We ended up with about 20 good channels. There is no signal booster. We have used Channel Master metal outdoor antennas in the past and they were excellent but I can't rave about this indoor flat one which kept falling off the wall. It might be better for more ideal home placement or in geographical areas closer to towers but not so good for more rural locations. Read more
Definitely easy to install. I needed a YouTube video to find out how to find the channels for my LG smart tv. At first I thought the antenna didn't work at all and wrote a bad review. I hope this replaces it. WONDERFUL!!! I GOT MY LOCAL STATIONS AND MORE. Bless YouTube!!! Read more
This antenna gets good reception, but it simply does NOT, and will NOT, stay up. As many other reviewers have noted, the stickers that come with the antenna can hold it in place for about 2 hours before it falls off the wall. I've had the antenna for about two weeks and despite: (1) cleaning the wall where the stickers attach, (2) pressing and holding the antenna into the wall to ensure adhesion, (3) ADDING additional stickers to the antenna, it has fallen off the wall about 20 times in those two weeks. So if you buy this antenna, expect good reception but also plan to buy some other type of adhesive or just give up and duct tape it to the wall. I legitimately have no idea what to do -- it's useful when it's attached to the wall but it is frankly embarrassing that it falls off while watching TV and irritating that nearly every morning I wake up to find it sitting on the floor. I have the antenna taped to the south window of my 7th floor apt building. Lots of hi-rises all around me - and I'm receiving 95 channels over the air. All of them crisp. Works extraordinarily well. Only gripe I have is the coaxial cable is black - which surprises me. Should be white or light grey - to blend into walls. That can be switched out - but it would've been nice if they just gave a white coaxial cable instead of black. Another other issue I've encountered is lag when changing channels. This is not due to the antenna, but rather the tuner of my 7 year old Samsung flatscreen. Unscrambling digital OTA signals can take several seconds - especially with older digital tv tuners like mine. That delay makes using the antenna to access over the air digital channels a surprisingly frustrating experience. I understand new tv tuners use NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0) which is supposed to reduce the lag time considerably. So ironically, my purchase of this inexpensive but highly effective digital antenna is probably going to cause me to buy a new tv that uses a NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0) tuner. Read more
