The magic cream moisturizer is a great pick. The jars are made out of a thick glass. They feel very luxurious, and look great sitting out on the counter or a vanity. The gold lid fits the rest of the brand’s aesthetics, and further enhances the lux vibes. I like that you have the option in the two largest sizes, to purchase a refill tub, instead of a whole new jar, for a little bit of a discount. While the 1 oz size doesn’t have a refill tub for sale, it does have the same removable inner plastic tub as the largest sizes. This would be great for sanitizing, and refilling from a bigger jar of the magic cream, or even with another product altogether. So it definitely has its perks. I tested the removal process and found it to be extremely easy, and simple to take out, and put back in the inner refill tubs. Despite this ease, the inner tub clicks into place and holds strongly, so you shouldn’t have to worry about it coming dislodged. The formula itself is great. The cream is kind of thick, but it spreads easily and absorbs quickly. I found it to be adequately moisturizing, and my skin didn’t feel tight. The cream was not greasy or tacky, despite being a heavier moisturizer. It left my skin hydrated, glowy, and smoother looking. I see why they claim it could make a great primer for under makeup, as my skin felt really well prepped. Dimethicone is found in a lot of pore filling primers, so the priming capabilities make a lot of sense. I found this cream to provide enough hydration even for my dry skin type. I think people with all skin types would like this cream. It could work as a day or night cream. The cream is lightly scented. It is a floral scent which is fresh and mild. I found it to be quite pleasant, but if you are sensitive to fragrances, be aware that this cream does have a fragrance. I haven’t used it for long enough yet to review the clinical claims about it, possibly reducing the appearance of redness, fine lines, skin texture, and so forth. I did find it to make my skin more hydrated, and to appear smoother, and more glowy after application. Overall I really like this cream, and can recommend it. Read more

This is the updated version of Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream, and one of the biggest differences from the original is the addition of Trachelospermum jasminoides extract, which is a blend of over 100 multi-action peptides derived from the stem cells of the Eternal Jasmine Youth Plant. Previous versions contained a few individual peptides, but this new complex is far more advanced. It's currently the only moisturizer that includes this ingredient. I've been using the original Magic Cream for a few years and it's one of my favorite overnight creams, so I was really excited to try this new formulation. It has the same thick, creamy texture that spreads easily and melts into my skin, but delivers an improved level of hydration. It's rich, calming for sensitive skin, and ideal for anyone with dry skin or those of us over 40 who love a heavier moisturizer. My skin feels noticeably softer than it did with the original. When used during the day, it gives my skin a smooth, silky finish that I can apply makeup over the top of without needing a separate primer. It doesn't cause my makeup to separate or look greasy, although I always use a setting spray and a touch of powder because it's humid where I live. At night, I apply it over my serums and actives to lock in moisture, and I wake up with plumper, less red skin. The scent is the same soft, powdery floral as the original, which smells mild and luxurious to me, though worth noting for anyone sensitive to fragrance. The packaging is a heavy glass jar with a gold screw-top lid that looks elegant sitting on my countertop. It also travels well. I can just toss it in my cosmetics bag without worrying about it breaking or spilling. Overall, I like this version even more than the original. The ability to skip a separate primer in the morning is a nice bonus, and the formula feels incredibly nourishing and gives my skin a beautiful glow. It's a little pricey, but worth it. If you've loved the Magic Cream before, you'll love this, and if you've never tried it, I’d highly recommend trying this new version. Read more

I am a makeup and skincare collector and have more makeup and skincare items than I could ever possibly use. Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favorite luxury brands and I was excited to see a new formulation of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Face Moisturizer. I have used the previous formulation and love it but was excited to see if it in fact is improved. The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream comes is a simple yet beautiful jar with a rose gold twist off lid. I love the look of it sitting on my countertop and it feels like a luxurious treat added to my nightly routine. I am 46 and live in Southern California. I have combo skin that leans towards dry during the winter. I don’t typically use heavy moisturizing creams during the day but love them at night. I did try the new formulation in the morning to see how it preformed. I applied it before my sunscreen and was interested to see if it would pill under my makeup like typical heavier moisturizers tend to do. I made sure to let the moisturizer thoroughly soak in before applying my foundation and noticed that it made my skin looked hydrated and luminous. After a day of errands I was impressed by how hydrated and good my makeup looked, I experienced zero piling. My favorite time to use Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Face Moisturizer is at night during my bedtime routine. The cream is thick and feels luxurious on my skin. It does have a jasmine scent that fades quickly. I have rosacea and use a lot of products to help conceal it and have noticed a small reduction since using Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Face Moisturizer during my nighttime routine. In addition to being a luxurious face cream I love that CT offers refills to help with sustainability. I really do love the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Face Moisturizer and feel that it is well worth the month. Not only does it feel luxurious it makes my skin hydrated and radiant. Read more
