High quality at a great price

Almost a 5 star
This recently delivered Halsted 7 pc set is nearly everything it is advertised to be. Great solidly knives with innovative space saving knife storage block. The only problem is that the Chinese mfr's quality control staff must be nonexistant. One of the holes provided for the knives to drop into in the block was undersized such that the knife tang would only drop in an 1/8" or so and that is with a hard push. The others drop in ~ 1/2" or more. Half an hour on hold at Chicago Cutlery, hoping for a simple block replacement, yielded "you need to contact Amazon and return or replace." Way to stand behind your product quality Chicago Cutlery!!! I fixed the problem but I might suggest that Chicago Cutlery address the issue with the quality assurance staff in China. Read more
