I can't really fault this coat for anything, especially at a $50 price point, which is half or more than what you'd pay at Banana, Express, Loft, Ann Taylor, etc. The material is soft and heavy enough for cold winter days. The stitching and construction is excellent. And the lining is nice and silky. The red color is rich and beautiful. It's not as dark as what's pictured, but it's also not a really bright red, imo. There was also no smell to the item, and very few creases from packaging/shipping. Some reviews mentioned loose buttons. Mine are all secure so far. The button has a little loop in the back, instead of the more traditional 4-hole style. This style tends to be a little floppy, which I don't mind. The coat does come with a spare button. I originally ordered this in a S, which fit, but was not right for wearing over bulky sweaters. I went up to a M, which was perfect. I tried it over one of my bulkiest sweaters and it looked great, and was still comfortable in the shoulders, back, and arms. The sleeves are on the shorter side, but I'd rather a little short than too long. I have longer arms also so... I'm a little over 5'8", 36C, broad frame, 145lbs. This coat is pure perfection. The red is a deep, saturated hue and is visually stunning. The fabric is a lovely weight, heavy enough to be warm and light enough to wear or carry for an extended period. It is fully lined, including the cape section. I also tried the black version of this coat, which is lovely as well. Roomy through the shoulders, it has a generous cut that allows for layering blazers or sweaters without feeling restricted. It looks great, either open or buttoned and belted. The pockets are generous. I see some reviews mentioned problems with the buttons. I have not experienced any issues but have not worn it out yet. I will be watching for that. I would also mention that the belt buckle is a cheaper plastic, but I intend on tying the belt in the modern way, and not using the buckle. With basic sewing skills, you can attach the buttons better (if this is still a problem) or replace the buckle. For the price, this coat is perfection. No funny smell here. A really nice coat that is well put together. No stretch because it is lined but I love the silhouette with the lapels. I kind of wish I had gone up a size so I could layer more but it will be OK. With no hood I will be wearing a scarf. The length is midi so it's warm and I can wear a light sweater over a thin turtle neck so layering isn't out. Something about this coat makes me not wear my puffer again, but I know I will.
