I haven't for the life of me been able to light this lighter. I've gone through almost half a cannister of butane with different attachment tips and this still won't light. The flint sparks, but no flame. I've filled other lighters before, so I'm not sure if it's user error. The instructions are not very descriptive and have tiny print with blurry font. For now it's just a shiny paper weight. It makes a nice "clink sound" when opening it. The box says "Calories" in a Cartier like font which gives it kind of a cheesy knock off feel. I probably wouldn't feel comfortable giving this as a gift because of that. Read more
Ordered the “Butane Vintage” lighter for the BF to have on his cigar nights. It has a nice looking texture and feels pretty heavy in your hand. He said it filled pretty easily. Just unscrew the cap on the bottom and fill. We purchased a can of “Zippo” butane which already has the appropriate size nozzle attached. He said the flip top reminded him of the old lighters he would see in his youth. The roller ignites the flame easily with a quick swipe of your thumb. You also have the option the adjust the flame to your desired preference. It comes with extra flints. Not sure how long 1 will last. Cigar nights are not often. Mostly with his golfing buddies.. I ordered the black lighter thinking it was more masculine. I now wish I would have ordered the Gold. The black feels very modern and IMO the gold gives off more of that old vintage vibe. Either way it is great lighter and he is really happy with it. It’s priced about the same as other similar refillable butanes I have seen. Read more
To start off, I love the "ting" sound this lighter makes when opening. It is super satisfying to open/close and play around with. It has a luxurious representation with its fancy manufacturer's box that it comes in. The silver color is super pretty to look at, and I think that is the draw with this kind of lighter. It's very pricey compared to your average lighter made out of cheaper materials, but you're paying more for style and looks, and not practicality. It is also pretty heavy and will most likely survive multiple drops on the floor, which is, in fact, one of the few practical pros of this product, as the durability is much higher than the aforementioned cheaper lighters. One con I found is that there really isn't a way to determine how much butane is left in the lighter, like how some other cheaper ones have see-through indicators somewhere on the side of the lighter itself. Maybe the product could be modified in the future to allow some indicator to give you an idea of how much is left. The flame adjustment is easy to adjust on the bottom, and the removable screw to put butane in has a very good seal when tightened. In summary, this is more of a showpiece than a practical lighter for everyday use, and you really don't need something fancy like this unless you are going for something special that will last a lot longer than your average lighter. It actually got frustrating trying to figure everything with this out. One time I couldn’t get a piece back on, and then no matter how much time I’m spending trying to butane, it never lights. I’d be disappointed to receive as a gift, amd would hate to waste money to gift an item like this. Read more
This brass lighter is very nice. It is very well made. It is a bit heavier than it looks, but that's not a bad thing. I think it's good that it has a bit of weight to it; it feels really solid. The lighter comes with 8 extra flints to ensure that sparking the lighter stays consistent over time. It looks simple yet elegant and I love the sound that it makes when you flip the top up. It's like a echoing clicking of metal, almost like a sword clashing. The one thing that I didn't take into account is that the lighter comes empty of fuel, in which you'll have to buy and fill it yourself with butane before it can be used.
