I thought that this vinyl would be the professional type, the ones you see in your office or at Costco but this is not. This is a vinyl sheet with less than 30 gauge in thickness. Please see picture and compare it to the tip of a pen for thickness. Having had experience buying the 30 and 40 gauge vinyl from marinevinylfabric-com I can tell the thickness is a bit thinner. The higher the gauge number the thicker it will be. What was advertised is noise reduction. The rolling chair noise can be reduced from the downstairs bedroom by using a rug with a vinyl back under your office chair. This vinyl won’t do the job of reducing the noise completely. For the time being I just wanted the hardwood floor covered and reduce some loud rolling noise that gets emitted to the downstairs room. For those sleeping downstairs and both floors have wooden floor, sound tends to travel in both directions clearly. Cons: There are lots of precautions about using vinyl and health concerns. I would do some reading in this area if that is a concern. There is a plastic smell from this vinyl sheet. Some people react to this type of material so it is per user preference. Read more

I like that this is works well on my porcelain tile floor, and allows for easy rolling of my chair. It does tend to move a bit, but I put something heavy on the end under the desk and since then it has not moved. It is much better than the rug that I was using before. It is easy to clean, too. I did not realize when I got this, that it was not to be placed on carpet, so I put it right under my office chair, directly over low pile carpet. It most definitely does not work in this application! The mat is thin and the chair wheels press deep down into the plastic right away if it is not on a hard surface. I moved the mat it a hard surface and my office chair moves smoothly and easily without damaging the mat. The plastic is so thin and lightweight, that it is initially difficult to get it to lay flat, even on the hard floor. I prefer something a little heavier and more supportive under my office chair whether on carpet or hard floor. Read more
This review is for: Clear Chair Mat, 36" x 48" Rectangular Frosted Chair Mat for Hard Floors, Gaming Chair Mats, Desk Protection Mats, Non-Slip and Easy Cleaning I expected a regular chair mat like you see in an office. This one is about 2 millimeters thick, so it is quite thin and flexible. You wouldn’t be able to use this on carpet except for very short pile. Since I want it for to protect my wood floor from scratching, it’s fine for me. After unrolling it, I had to allow a while for it to flatten out. I like that it is nearly invisible. Read more
The clear color chair mat arrived on a roll and bagged inside a box. It is made of vinyl type material with smooth backing, good for wood floors and will help protect them from my office chair. Because of it thickness of 0.06", I am not sure how long it will last. Read more
This is ok for a hard floor as the description said. It's not quite 1/16" thick 0.0574" thick. It is very pliable and arrived in a very tight roll that after 2 days has not completely laid flat and still has some of the curve to it. Read more
Decent thickness. Comes in a roll, and you have to lay it out a couple days for it to get flat. Chair rolls easily on it. Read more
Got this to protect my carpet from being damaged with the wheels from my office chair. This mat is very sturdy and allows me to roll my chair out from under the desk with ease. I have a feeling this will last for a while. Happy with this product! Read more
