I was hesitant to oay so much money for a yoga towel but it it well worth the cost. I wanted a yoga towel with traction on bothe sides for hot yoga. The other towels I have allow my feet to slip in certain postures. This was perfect. No slipping at any point and stays in place. Works well for what I wanted it for. It is light weight, good quality, color was a little darker than the pic. I got the gray. I will see how it does after I wash it. It does have a plastic smell when opening it for the first time. Will update review if smell does not go away after washing. Read more
I bought this yoga towel mat because we moved south and the spring/summer months are HOT. It's hard for a Canadian gal to move to the South. I didn't buy a cheap mat and I really wanted to protect it from sweat as much as I can. This towel helps keep my mat clean and fresher than it would be without. It is non-slip and grips my mat well. The color is appealing and the design on it well done. It is not super thick, but I wasn't expecting it to be. It seems like good quality (from what I've seen) and it's holding up well. It's easy to spread out (over my yoga mat) and it feels nice on my skin (not rough). I use this mat towel at home. I haven't brought it to the yoga studio, but it would easily roll up with my mat if I so chose to do so. I felt it was good value for the money. Read more
The best!! Omg I couldn’t imagine something better than this. The color is the cutest! Absolutely amazing on how it grips, I place it on top of the gyms mats and even with excessive movement its in place NO MATTER WHAT… in love with this mat, I was skeptical because of the price point, but it was worth every penny. Awesome yoga mat towel cover. No odor. Same fabulous grip pattern on both sides. Wash delicate hang to dry. Perfection. I bought 3 to rotate cleaning. Better than cleaning class or home yoga mats daily for sure! Worth it. Read more
I have had various yoga mat towels including the $$$ YogiToes. All of them start out a wee bit slippery especially after 60 min of 105F hot yoga with sweat pouring off my forehead and arms. They get worse after subsequent washings (could it be the dryer sheets)? After much cramping due to trying to hold a downward dog while my hands are failing underneath me, I decided to try this yoga towel. Out of the packaging, it smells bad. Like BO mixed with tires. I chose not to throw mine in the wash right away because I wanted to see how sticky it was right out of the box (but I did spray it down with a healthy dose of Febreeze). Holy moly, this towel STICKS, not just to my hands but to my Manduka mat underneath. If you lay the towel down on your mat and make sure it's flat throughout (no bumps or curled edges at the bottom), this towel won't budge. The hexagonal silicon shapes really make a difference! I'm afraid to use any of my other towels now! PS. I certainly hope this towel holds up to frequent washings. I'm going to try hang drying it and not putting it in the dryer with dryer sheets to see if that helps to prolong the stickiness. EDIT: 3 Month update... So I've been using this towel almost exclusively for 3 months now (that's about 30 yoga classes and about the same amount of washings). I am impressed: The hexagonal shapes have not lifted nor peeled one bit! It's like they're laser printed on! Has the mat become slippery since I bought it? Maybe a little. Last night I noticed my hands slipping in down dog, but honestly it was really minor and it might have been due to my pose (I had one leg in the air, bent, for "hip opener" which is one of my least favorite poses). Note: I don't wash with fabric softeners and I don't dry this towel with a dryer sheet. I also don't spray it down with water before class. All in all I still give this towel 2 thumbs up. My favorite part is that it stays flat throughout class and doesn't bunch up at all. Even if my hands were to slip, it sticks like glue to my mat. EDIT: 6 month update... Hands are slipping badly on mat. Have washed it about 45x for 60 yoga classes, no fabric softener, no dryer sheets (I only accidentally put it in the dryer once). Kinda bummed actually. I only use this mat for Hot yoga now since I'm not moving around too much. But if I'm doing Sculpt or Power, forget it. It's too slippery. Very bummed. Downgrading my rating from a 5 to a 4. I've bought four of these, they're wonderful. I originally bought them bc my yoga studio also has a HIIT class and I was slipping and sliding and bunching up the cheap mat they give out. These have silicone which do a much better job of 1. staying on the mat and 2. not moving on you. Read more
This yoga towel is absolutely amazing! The grip is incredibly helpful for nonslip. It’s incredibly well-made and it is very beautiful. It’s a dark plum-looking color with the black lotus flower in the center - it’s absolutely gorgeous! I practice at Black Swan yoga and get so many compliments every time I go. Read more
I absolutely love this towel! After struggling with a towel that wouldn't lay flat, a fellow hot yoga enthusiast recommended this one. It lays perfectly flat! ( My yoga practice has improved since I'm not focused on stepping around or kicking out creases in my towel). The towel is absorbent and the lilac color is pretty. I didn't realize how nice it was to have a two-sided towel. The design in the center is actually helpful during my practice: the center flower width is 8 inches, so I have a gauge as to how and where to step for certain poses. It washes up well (I only use cold water, delicate cycle) and dries quickly. (BTW, the Rag Company--also on Amazon-- has a set of face-wiping microfiber towels in lavender that matches perfectly!)
