These lighters work very well and have no child safety button. But, they do have a safety switch that moves very easily, maybe too easily! Every time I get ready to use it I have to look for the switch and flip it before I can click the lighter on. Not a big problem. I think I will tape it in the fire position. I really like these extended length lighters. They are very easy to use, because they do not have the child guard that the others have, like the bic disposable ones. Those are impossible to use because you have to hold down a special button while pressing the trigger which is difficult to do. You will need butane fuel to refill these but that is not very expensive. These do come already filled. They are very sturdy and dependable. They are really great for lighting candles. Read more

I purchased these because they are refillable. I only gave it a 4 rating overall because the flame is weak even when I put the slide as high as it would go. I am hoping this will improve when I refill the chamber. The lighter is quite easy to use and looks as good as any other lighter I have used in terms of being solidly built. As others have noted, these do have a stiff trigger. However, due to no other features, I believe is the manufacturer's design at child proofing. That said, it does require some finger/hand strength. I can see that being an issue for anyone with joint problems. As for the rest, they are refillable, which is what I wanted as I usually have butane at my home to refill them. So far they light every time I activate the trigger, no multiple clicks. So I would recommend this product, as long as the stiff trigger won't be difficult for you to activate. Read more

Even with a fresh butane refill these always take a few clicks to light. For the price I didn’t expect much different but I DID still expect better quality. Cheap plastic and poor performance. But good price at least. Read more

Don't waste your time or money on this item. First time we used them (pack of three), the first lighter fell apart, the second lighter would not light up, the third one we have not gotten to, yet. I can't return because my husband was so upset with the first lighter that he threw it into the camp fire (it fell apart as he tried to use it), the second one he refuses to use after his many attempts to get it to light up (1 of out every 8 attempts and then it would not stay lit). Not a dependable source of fire. So, this was a poor choice on our part. Read more

Inexpensive and re-fillable but they are lesser quality than the bought in the store single refill types, but should last for some time. I've used two of six and one works just fine and the other has about a 1/2 reduced flame length, but it's not a big deal. I haven't tried the other four yet. Read more
