I think Wavelength is a truly amazing board game. In my mind it has entered the canon of family and party games, a new classic. The way that the game relies ambiguity of the prompts to spark discussion among a group of people is such a fun way to connect to people. Once players start to get good a new level of strategy starts to appear that relies on how well you know each other. The questions are designed in a way that different age groups and backgrounds will likely disagree, making the prompts harder to read. This was a gift I gave during the holidays and as the party wound down, we found ourselves opening and playing Wavelength. After a quick read of the instructions and watching a youtube video on it, we were off and playing. Immediately, you start to get a feel for strategy and the communication skills necessary to try and win. The game is simple and easy to pick up for pretty much anyone, so it is pretty inclusive of age and skill levels. We had kids and adults all playing and screaming at each other. Before we knew it, we were a few hours in and having an incredible time debating, arguing, laughing, and just playing.
