When I opened the box, I was daunted by all pieces, so it took a couple days to work up the courage to assemble it. Happily, it's nowhere near as bad as it looks. Hubby got it together in less than an hour, and it's a nice, sturdy, functional piece, which is surprising considering how inexpensive it is. It's the sort of piece that can be used just about anywhere--we're putting it by the front door---there are three shelves which can be used for shoes, space to hang things on hangars, and hooks for purses, shopping bags, or wraps that you don't feel like putting on a hangar. It's just shy of six feet tall, and it really makes good use of the vertical space. The industrial look is not really my thing, but functionality is what matters most to me, so this is a keeper. This coat rack is great in my home as a catch all. The grands use this for jackets, hats and the top shelf fits two backpacks perfectly. It helps keep our home more organized and a dedicated space for extras. It is tall, almost six feet with two wood printed mdf engineered wood shelves and one bottom mesh shelf. It is made of metal and mdf board. It has plastic round “hooks” and a hanging rod for garments, purses and jackets. I gave four stars because for me assembly wasn’t so straightforward. The top upside down U pieces didn’t want to slide onto the side bars very easily. It was like the holes were manufactured a bit smaller than the rod. I finally got them in and one of the round hooks looked melted. Otherwise, after installation it is sturdy and level. It states that the shelves can hold up to 44 lbs each. This has eight hanging knobs for hats, handbags and dog leashes. It also has three shelves for shoes. The top 2 shelves are waterproof wood and the bottom shelf is mesh. The mesh shelf is perfect for muddy or wet shoes. We positioned it just inside the front door and it is large enough to hold all our coats, hats and bags. The dog leash also lives here now so no more hunting his leash when he needs to go outside. This coat rack really helped to organize our house now all our items are in one place. The metal frame is very strong. It was easy to assemble and the instructions were well written. The coat rack is easy to keep clean with a quick wipe over with a damp cloth.
