I very rarely write reviews on amazon purchases, but I was so happy with this coat I just had to leave one. This is a very nice looking coat. Cole Haan is more known for their shoes so I was a little skeptical at first, but with a sale price under $100 it was worth a risk. Couldn't be more happy. The coat has a nice weight to it without being too bulky. Its nice and soft with a nice lining. Length is great for someone that doesn't want to deal with a full top coat, but wants something longer than a standard peacoat. The pockets come sewn shut but are easy to open up with some scissors. I like this a lot, it's very warm, comfortable, and stylish. The fit is kinda weird though. I'm 6'2 and 200lbs, fairly lean. I found this to be perfect around the belly and waist, a little tight at the shoulders, and a little big in the arms. I ordered a medium. I would recommend someone of my size to buy a medium if you aren't very big in the shoulders, but get a large and hem the sleeves if you are. I intend to use this one til it gives up, but I'll probably buy a large next time. Read more

My husband desperately needed a new coat, his old coat was so raggedy and worn out! There aren't any shopping malls near us and fewer stores that sell quality men's clothing. Besides that there's a hassle of driving, parking, and finding help. So we turned to Amazon again! My husband tried several coats and this one was the winner. It is warm and styled beautifully. The other coats looked like he was wearing wool bag and the buttons were difficult for him to work with his painful fingers. This Cole Haan Men's Wool Plush Car Coat has very nive trimming in the back that gives it a much better fit and look. Also, my husband was able to more easily button and unbutton this coat even with his arthritic hands. The others were not that way. It’s a 60% wool coat, very heavy, and well made. I bought it for less than $100, and that’s a bargain these days for a coat with that much percentage of wool. Yes, it can be better, with more wool, lighter filler like goose down, but then it would be priced more, and harder to find. The size is a little on the bigger side but not much. I’m 5’7”, 140 lbs and the small size I bought is slightly bigger for me with just a shirt on. It maybe just right if I add a sweater. Read more

I’m a little too short now that I’ve shrunk as I’ve gotten an older period to wear a full topcoat. Therefore, I bought this one. Which is Car coat length. Several reviewssaid it ran big so I ordered the small. That was a mistake. I could barely button it and there was no way I was putting a sport jacket on under it. Exchanged it for the medium. The sleeves did run a little long, took the coat to the tailors to have them shortened. The coat is superb. Tailored warm, comfortable and the color is excellent. Read more
