Cole Haan Womens Double Breasted Trench Coat

As someone who was once in the fashion business, I'm very picky about my clothes. This trench not o only met my expectations, it exceeded them! I am 5'3", 140, 36C. I needed something stylish to wear to Paris next month. I am usually a medium, but I wanted to be sure that I could wear a sweater underneath without the coat pulling across my chest, so I ordered a large. The fit is perfect for me. I have large upper arms (thanks, Mom) and the sleeves are not tight on this at all. I was concerned about the length of the hem and sleeves - this looks great, with the hem hitting just above the knee. The sleeves are slightly too long for me, but it turns out that the buckles on the bottom of the sleeves actually work, so by adjusting them I can keep my sleeves at a proper length. The coat has great details - a red grosgrain ribbon inside the lining, elegant looking brass hardware, dark, high-quality buttons that are firmly sewed on, and not one loose thread. My favorite detail is a hidden button on the belt - it discreetly attaches the belt to a belt loop so that it can't slip out and become lost. The styling is pretty good, classic short trench/jacket. But the hardware on the wrist & belt buckles is a cheap looking brushed brass/gold tone and almost wire-thin and there is no button on the storm flaps - just tacked partly down with a few loops of thread(?) I purchased this jacket so I would have a lighter rain jacket for my trip to the UK. It is very cute and comfortable but it is not at all waterproof. Rain immediately soaks into and through the fabric so it was kind of pointless. Thankfully we had a mostly sunny trip or I would have purchased an actual rain jacket while there. It does not provide much warmth at all so if going to a cooler place, you will want layers of warmth under it. Read more

Really exquisite trench coat. No loose threads, quality fasteners, perfect design. The color and beautiful ribbon pipping on the interior lining heighten its feminine appeal. The fit was as expected and removable belt and hood make it versatile. Its got two outer pockets. I used this coat for a work trip and the downside is that it DOES wrinkle so be prepared to use the iron to keep it looking crisp on travel. We walked .5 miles in a light rain and the rain beaded up so its going to help in the rain, but I wouldn’t wear this in a downpour. Read more

Wore it on vacation. It was a bit tight in the arms/chest for a large I thought but the arms were maybe just a tad too long so can’t go up a size. I’m still happy with it tho. Very high quality. I never got cold while wearing it in the cold rain of Ireland. For sizing, I am 145lbs, 5’3”, generally a medium/lg, 32 or 34DD (which may have contributed to the tightness). Read more

Love, Love, Love this double breasted trench coat! I saw it on Zulily for $89.99 and wound up finding it on Amazon for right under $55! Can't beat that! It fits pretty true to size. If you plan on wearing it over bulky sweaters and normally wear a small, you may want to order a medium. However, I purchased it to wear more in those transition months between Fall & Winter and Spring & Summer, so the small works for me. Beautifully made with quality materials! I own several Cole Haan coats and have yet to be disappointed! The seller La Via was also great!
