This coat just exceeds my expectations. The fabric is soft and thick, definitely warm and durable. The lining is soft. There is a zipper and also snaps and a tie belt for the waist. I am 5'8" and the waist feels a little high on me while the length hits just below knee. However, a waist that is slightly high is something I'm very used to at my height, and not a fashion crime. If anything, it creates a long silhouette even if I know the tie belt is too closet to my ribs. Overall, firm A for materials and construction. (An A+ if the belt placement was adjustable for my height). The design is versatile and classic. This coat actually reminds me of a coat I had twenty years ago that was derivative of an Italian couture style. This is to say that this design and silhouette are very classic for a good reason -- functional, versatile, and you feel chic in it despite whatever you have on underneath. The light gray color isn't normally a preferred color for me, but it was a great choice for this coat because it works so well for fall and spring as well as winter, and it works equally well with navy and brown as well as black clothing. So I can accessorize with any color scarf and shoe in my closet, and I always look put together. It's also nice not to always have on a dark coat like everyone else -- the gray stands out, and I love it. The lighter shade also shows off the beauty of the quality wool fabric. This coat is expensive, yes, but it offers excellent value in a coat that works for dressy occasions as well as casual, a day to night, work to weekend, take-it-on-your-trip and wear-it-on-a-date coat. This is an amazing coat. It is mostly wool with about 48% polyester not 45 as the description stated. So that is wrong on Amazon. I do like the blend because I have had full-wool jackets, and they tend to get stiff over time. It fits me perfectly, and I have worn it a couple of times already since I received it. It is a nice length, it gets to mid calf.. It is thick and protects you from the cold. I wore it over both dresses and pants, and it still kept me warm. It is a very pretty coat. I did get it because of the style. It can be buttoned all the way up or left half open. I did not wear it in the snow or rain, but it looks like it will do fine, given the feel and quality of the coat. It is a very pricey coat, but It is thick and looks durable. There are some issues though that should not be there for the price: -I found a piece of loose string that should not have been there on such an expensive coat, but it was easy to cut off and did not unravel further. -Also, the pockets came sewn together. I removed the string, which was easier to do on one pocket versus the other, and it left a tiny hole where the string used to be. It is not noticeable as it is inside the pocket, but for such a pricey coat, that should not have happened either. All in all, I only had two issues that are not deal-breakers. I just think that for something so expensive, there should not have been any issues at all. I still like it and recommend it, though. Read more

This is a timeless, stunning coat. Absolutely the quality you would expect from Cole Haan - and SUPER warm to boot. The light tan color (called "Bone") truly goes with everything - black, brown, navy, olive green, red... the list goes on.)
