I would use this sleeping bag for camping if you aren't carrying it. But I might even consider carrying it because of the comfort it provides. However, I am not using it camping most of the time because I guess I am a bit weird and like the coziness of a sleeping bag in my bed. My old one finally gave up after a zipper tab broke off and 2 rips appeared...I mean the thing was more than 25 years old and lumpy from being washed so much. So I wanted to get one as close to the old one as possible and this one is soft, flannel-y, roomy, longer than my old one which is better because my dog has room to sleep on it at my feet instead of on a pillow that he ends up sliding off of. I deliberated on the $50 price, though for a good quality sleeping bag it is a decent cost. I kept thinking about it and it was the one I really wanted because it isn't a slick, noisy, sweaty, brightly colored bag, it is a soft, caramel colored fabric with a nice loft, breathability, and it turns out it is warm without being hot. Plus the no-snag zipper is amazing. And it has a cell phone pocket. So if you are looking for cuddly but roomy comfort and don't mind the weight, this is your bag. I hope to have it for 25 years like the last one. The old one now belongs to the dog for when he feels like sleeping on the floor. Read more

This sleeping blanket keeps me.very warm and comfortable when the temperature is as low as 20. Degrees Fahrenheit in our shed. It is a great sleeping blanket that does not use a heating element. Read more

I've used this bag in the 30-40 degree F temperature and will say that dressing up moderately warm (including a face mask) with extra attention to your feet is going to be necessary. I also used a blanket underneath to add more cushion so I can't say how comfortable this might be just on the floor of the tent, but the cushion material inside was comfortable and not anything that would cause itchiness or whatnot. It's not that tight inside either so you won't feel at two ends of the sleeping bag. There is room to toss and turn. As reference, I am 205 LBS I am 5'9 in height so this sleeping bag can cover me head-to-toe, which is going to be necessary if the temp drops in the 20s. The zipper is pleasant to use. The zipper in this sleeping bag is beefy, built with strong quality, and on both sides of the bag (inside and outside of the sleeping bag). It has not gotten stuck on my yet. As far as rolling up the sleeping bag to travel with, it's not that portable, but it does have that extra height and cushion so that is the trade off. For my uses, I do not mind the size of it when it's wrapped up, but for someone who has to carry it on their back while hiking could very well mind it. Overall, great sleeping bag and I do recommend it for camping / in car use. Read more

I bought one of these years ago and it was great. I bought a new one to replace it and was disappointed that it did not have flannel on one side. I found out too late to return it. It is still nice and warm but buyers beware that it doesn't have flannel although it says so in the description. Read more

For years, my parents had a Coleman sleeping bag, brown in color, that transcended all of my childhood hopes and dreams for comfort. For years, I tried to find said sleeping bag, hoping that this thirty year product would have a cousin twice removed down the line that I could call my own. It took several weeks of searching, a few of looking at the pictures, another two of calculating finances, and at least three adding to cart and removing it to finally bite the bullet to purchase this sleeping bag. I could have saved my past self several weeks of indecision if I had been able to access the Ancestry.com report of this sleeping bag. It doesn't qualify as a second cousin twice removed but that sibling no one knew about. The comfort and warmth of this sleeping bag takes me back to my childhood and the big and tall size makes me feel like I'm a teeny child curled up in flannel and fluff. I tested the bag several days just to confirm my flashbacks and in my journey, I managed to convert a friend of mine, who now swears that this sleeping bag may end up among her things if I don't watch it. (Fortunately, she is tiny and I can take her if need be.) The only downside I have to this sleeping bag is the way the bag is stored. The older sibling of this bag didn't have a storage case, preferring the roll and tie up method that I have mastered after years of using it. This one has a feeble little flap that is supposed to act like a bag but apparently flunked out of bag school a long time ago. Fortunately, since I have mastered the art of rolling, it doesn't take long to get it into the flappity doo dah that is attached to this thing. Good luck getting it to look like one cohesive piece, though. Would definitely recommend this sleeping bag to anyone interested in staying warm in cooler climates. It makes for a fantastic cover for an air mattress as well as comforter in a pinch. I will amend my review once I'm able to take it camping. (My expectation is that it is not as water resistant as some of the other bags in the market but as long as it is warm, I should be cozy.) Read more
