In about our 20's we start loosing more collagen than we make. And unfortunately that only gets worse as the years go by. And sooner or later we usually can see the effects of that in the mirror. Thankfully according to many studies we can possibly offset that with collagen peptides like this brand is offering. Peptides and hydrolyzed are the same thing with collagen in that it is small enough to be used by your body. And this is a bovine collagen which is type 1 and 3. It helps ( may) with skin and may also help with other things (may) like joints and organ tissue. IMO it's a wide spectrum that is not as focused like other collagens. Take for example type 2 collagen is very much focused on joints and hardly anything else. So with it being wide spectrum that's why I uses it for a base. It is recommended that a daily amount of collagen to take is 12 to 15 grams for improvement. So one scoop of this is supposed to be 11 grams. You can see on my scale that it is coming to 13.70 grams using the scooper that came with this. And I tared the weight of the scooper out ! I have tested dozens of collagens and almost all of them come in with less weight than stated. It is very very rare to be more than stated like this is. And you can see my scale is very accurate with a 50 gram test weight coming in at 49.97 grams. So very impressive to see that one scoop exceeds the stated weight. Now later in the day currently I am taking about 3 grams of marine collagen in capsule form which is very focused on facial skin. So I am getting about 16 grams a day of collagen with that included which is of course above that 12 gram minimum goal I have. As far as improvement it is a very very long process. It took decades to loose it but thankfully it doesn't take as long to replace it. Its kinda like a sand castle that got destroyed and you are replacing one grain of sand at a time. I highly recommend to take pictures since as slow as it is you miss sometimes noticing the improvement. I have been taking collagen peptides for well over 5 years and am very surprised and pleased with the difference it has made. If you are considering this for joints, I would certainly stack this with type 2 poultry collagen for best results IMO and once again it's slow. I like that this brand is plain with no flavoring. I prefer to put it in my morning coffee and I like my coffee black. This does not alter the taste and I am all smiles with that. It dissolves well to. It has no weird/bad smell. It actually to me has no smell at all. It has 41 servings so that last longer than a month obviously. I prefer my supplements to be third party tested but considering what this is ( bone content powder) testing is usually not done or pretty expensive with the brands I see that with. Would like to see grass fed beef, and since this product does not have that I have rated it 4 stars. It is easy to dissolve in your morning beverage, be it cold or hot. This is a good quality collagen. It is not organic, but it is made in a GMP facility in the United States, although it is sourced from other countries. It dissolves well in a hot beverage or blended beverage. It imparts a very mild taste. I contacted the company, and they got back with me within 24 hours to let me know that their products are all lab tested, but are not organic. I do feel this helps maintain healthy hair, and good skin. I prefer grass fed collagen that is not made from animal hides. The company did not let me know if this was made from animal hides.
