I’ve been using these Columbia hiking shoes for several weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed. The build quality is top-notch – the materials feel durable, yet the shoes remain lightweight and comfortable for long hikes. One of the biggest challenges for me is that my foot tends to roll inward, but these shoes hold my foot perfectly in place and provide excellent stability, which makes a huge difference on uneven terrain. The traction is outstanding: I’ve walked on rocky trails, muddy paths, and even steep inclines, and I always feel secure. Wanted a light weight hiking shoe to be mostly used for street walking. I purchased Columbia Crestwood hiking shoes. They are fine shoes, but didn't provide sufficient heel lateral support for me. Returned them & replaced with Columbia Strata hiking shoes. The Strata hiking shoes provide me much better lateral heel support & otherwise are very comfortable. I highly recommend particularly if you desire good lateral heel support. Read more
They run a little big but I’m hoping my orthotics and hiking socks will compensate on trails. They seem to be made well. Have worn casually in the rain with normal socks- they are pretty comfortable and they are indeed waterproof. Read more

I purchased these shoes for walking trails in the woods. They aren't boots, but I'm more likely to actually wear these since they're so much more comfortable and I can wear my regular socks. Not waterproof but if they were then they wouldn't breathe and my feet would get too hot. Definitely better water protection than regular sneakers for an occasional mud spot or light rain. Laces are sturdy and I'm gonna stick with the ones provided. Tread is thick like a boot and sturdy but not rigid- it does bend a little which I like. Read more
