My hand therapist said I needed this and I ended up buying one for both hands. I have fairly small to average hands and wrists and this is definitely a snug fit. It has relieved so much pain and discomfort in my thumbs especially. Some days I wear it all long, and other days just if I'm beginning to feel pain. They have both held up well Read more

UPDATE: now 5 stars! I ordered another brace for me (last ones were for my mom) and the new one came sewn all the way around the strap! This brace is now perfect. Mom isn’t too happy that hers (received just a couple weeks ago) were not sewn around the strap like old ones I have. MAKE SURE yours are or return them for exchange! It makes a big difference in durability and how long it will last. We have tried several brands of thumb braces. This is by far the most comfortable and least intrusive. Easy to wear all day. Unfortunately, the long strap that wraps around the thumb and velcros is only glued together so it stretches and comes apart too quickly. It should be sewn all the way around. The next one I buy I will sew myself before wearing. Read more
I got this on a recommendation of my occupational therapist for osteoarthritis in my CMC joint. I like it functionally. It fits well and can be pulled tighter as desired, while not unduly restricting use of my thumb. I tried another variety, which almost immobilizes the thumb; a lot more protection and lost functionality than I want. It's also easy to strip off and put back on. My major objection is its durability. After only a week of wearing it more or less full time, it shows wear and damage at the thumb. Not surprising in a way; that's a pretty busy area for day-to-day living. Still, for the substantial price, I would expect it to last for at least several months. The vendor also recommends hand washing. That's a problem for an appliance worn under cycling gloves, under gardening gloves, or out in the open for ordinary sweaty activities. Proliferating micro-organisms can be stopped by a hot-water cycle through the laundry, but wearing it in the shower or squeezing it out in a washbowl just doesn't hack it. I got okay results from water full of dish soap and isopropyl alcohol (as an antiseptic), but I'd rather not have to do that every few days. Everything is a trade-off. Read more

Had been recommended this by a physical therapist back when I had injured my wrist last year. Fits well (if you get the correct size), and is comfortable to wear. I find it difficult though to put it on with only one hand, however.. (not the companies fault though, just how life goes).. Read more
Issue #1: These splints come apart on the strap section that goes over the thumb and attaches to the Velcro strip. This is an easy fix if the MFG would stitch 2 lines all the way down, instead of stopping at the midpoint of the strap. This ALWAYS comes apart within 2-3 weeks of use, when you hand wash them once per week and air dry them. I wear them night and day, so it's a problem. In one of the photos, I show how I used a safety pin to keep it from unraveling more. I don't have a sewing machine to fix the problem. 5 of the 6 sets I own have unraveled! They don't work as well once the strap unravels. Issue #2: I've purchased 6 different sets of splints, and the thumb length varies considerably between the supports. None of them give me enough support of the thumb. On the Amazon purchase site, it says you can cut the thumb down, which is fine for some people, but I need the support. It needs to be longer. I've stopped wearing them as often as I need to, because they just wear out too quickly and I don't have $60+ dollars to spend on a new pair of Comfort Cool Thumb CMC Restriction Splints, every month. The Comfort Cool Thumb CMC Restriction Splint, Right Medium 7" to 8" are one of the more comfortable supports out there, so it would be great if the manufactured could fix the problem! Read more
