I installed this permanently on the wall in my 30’x32’ garage with a wifi thermostat. It’s been very solid. I was concerned about not having a filter, but the blades are still clean and dirt hasn’t collected in the unit at all. The build required a transformer to run the thermostat and the 40a contactor. I mounted that in a Vevor NEMA enclosure to keep everything safe. I have a power meter (search power factor meter) to keep track of power usage. So far, by mid February in central Indiana, I’ve used about 1000khw this winter keeping it at 40 degrees, with occasional 50 degree settings when I’m working in the shop. I can limit use to off peak time of use so it only cost $85 +tax this winter. It only puts out about 4500w, but it will maintain temps 45 degree higher than outdoor temps depending on how windy it is. My shop is really well insulated, with R19 walls, and R21 ceiling. The main goal was to heat the space enough to keep the cars frost free in the morning and to be able to work in the garage on occasion without taking up floor space like a wood stove would do. A mini split was an option, but the $1500-$2000 cost was a barrier. Also, if I decide to work on something in the shop, I can pull up the Honeywell app and crank up the heat from anywhere. The fan is a little loud. Other than when it starts up, it doesn’t vibrate or sound like it’s falling apart. It’s a detached garage; I guess you would be able to hear it if your shop is attached. The 12ga cable doesn't get hot after use, it's only pulling 18a. Don’t hate me, I found it on sale on here for $45 in 2023. the rest of the components were around $125 or so. A mini split would take 12 years to pay it off, and that’s a poor investment. Read more
I had to remove thermostat and over-temp switch so I could get the room temp high enough to kill bed bugs. If you can do that yourself then this is a low cost way to kill bed bugs. I bought two units and worked great for my 1000 sqr/ft house. Without the bypass it only got to 105 degrees. With the bypass the walls got to 140 degrees. Each unit requires 18 amps at 240 volts. So I used the dryer outlet for one heater and the stove outlet for the other. I also bought a WiFi temp monitor with 3 sensor so I can monitor the temp of 3 rooms from outside and don’t need to go inside to test the temp. Also connected to a WiFi 110 v socket controller. Hooked up a relay and I can control each heater if the temp gets too high inside. The company is called Govee Read more

Just received it. Had it on just long enough to see it is junk. Very little heat output and sounds like a jet air plane. And the ground on the plug is crooked making it hard to plug in. I am very disappointed. Wish I would not have bought it. Do not buy it. Read more
Our garage would get so cold my husband would have to come inside to get his hands warm enough to continue his projects. He bought this with his fingers crossed & he must have crossed his toes too because this little heater takes care of our 3 car garage (half is workshop) with no problem. Dead of winter, snow outside & I was able to put away the Christmas gear without needing a sweater! This is one heck of a great heater and Highly recommended it. 👍 Read more
We needed heat for an insulated kennel shed and wanted this heater to keep close to 72F into the fall and winter temperatures. First, it is very noisy (like a jet engine). All metal construction makes it look like some steampunk invention from the 1930s. All that is OK but getting it to heat evenly is not. The temperature adjustment has a lot of slack and takes constant fiddling. The shed is either too hot or too cold. And when anyone is working in the shed they tend to turn this off because of the noise. Might be OK for a bigger area that is already noisy and where this unit could be turned on when needed, but we are not happy with it for our installation. Read more
I bought this heater because I'm tired of using a propane torpedo heater in the garage and the concern for fumes. I knew it would no put out as much heat as the propane heater but I did not think there would be such a difference. This heater puts out heat and the fan blows it only a few feet, but there is no comparison to the propane heater output and fan. I guess its only 4800 watts which is about the same as 4 hair dryers, so I might have been ahead to use some hair dryers. The heater showed up with a big dent in the top of it and one screen that was bent in. It is supposed to have 4 small rubber feet on it but there were none on mine so I had to add my own. The box it came in was not damaged in any way and was factory sealed so the damage was done at the factory and they boxed it up and shipped it. I'm keeping it because I cut the 6-30 plug off the cord and installed a 6-50 plug so I could easily plug it into my welder outlet near the workbench. So if you are looking for something that is similar to a propane torpedo, or a ceiling mount garage heater you may be disappointed. UPDATE: I decided to test the heat output of this heater against my old standby propane totpedo heater I've used for over 20 years. I put a thin steel plate exactly 1 foot away from each of the heaters and let them both run for ten minutes. I then used an infared thermometer to check the temperature of the metal plate. The new electric heater got the plate up to 133 degrees. The old propane heater got the plate up to 219 degrees. I could easily pick up the plate from in front of the electric heater with bare hands, but the propane heated plate was way too hot to touch. The propane heater also blows the heated air about twice as far as the electric heater. Hope this helps someone considering buying this heater. It works, but its not what I expected. Read more
I'm using this in a large 2-car garage space that serves as my woodworking shop. I'm surprised by how wam the shop is after the heater has been on for an hour or so. I turn it on first thing in the morning and after breakfast and watching the depressing morning news, the shop is warm. Others have complained about the noise level of the fan. With all my big machines as a comparison, the fan is only a small background noise. No problem since noise-cancelling headphones work just fine. Read more
