Okay, my son ordered these shirts because he is self-conscious about his chest and tummy. He hates writing this stuff so I got all the details from him and am writing in his stead! He likes these shirts and believe that they do offer some compression, fit relatively well, and smooths out appearance when worn under a shirt. He does say that the shirt retains a little bit of heat ... not uncomfortably so but he says he does feel it in certain instances. The one thing that seemed to be tricky for him was the sizing of the shirt. My son ALWAYS orders shirts bigger than he actually needs, partially because he is self-conscious about his form and because he likes baggy for a more comfortable feel when off work or around the house. That all being said his initial thought was that a properly sized shirt for him would be an XL so he ordered a L for the compression shirt. For him, that was off. He said the L fit like a snug t-shirt but wasn't really offering any compression. He returned the L and downsized to a M and he felt that that offered more of the compression and smoothing effect that he wanted. Even though he was reasonably satisfied with the M he decided to try a S. Once the shirt came in he tried it on and says it is a little tougher to get on and off but it DOES fit and it DOES give him even more compression without restricting breathing. Just to give you an idea of my son's physical size so you can see how it relates to these shirts. My son's chest measurement across both nipples is 40" and his stomach is 43" right across the belly-button and he stands at 6' 1". I hope this helps when you are considering what size to get but I think the moral of this story is to go a size smaller than what you think you need. This is the first time I've bought a compression shirt. It's pretty cool. Definitely does a bit of slimming in my abdomen and "love handles" area. My shirt size is usually Large, and XL are always a bit too big. This Large was pretty tight, but not uncomfortably so. I'll buy again. Read more
