Works well--note that pancake lights tend to be not as bright as other types of lights
I bought several of these on sale--in order to fashion a lighting array for a portable studio for product photography. The lights can be removed from the included stand, and mounted on a weighted tripod or stand, with a vertical post with ¼-20 threads. The electrical cords on these lights are relatively long, so the weight from batteries can be placed on a table (behind the tripods), and not elevated with the lights. Obviously, there are compromises with this system. But it is the best way to achieve my lighting goal, with these rather compact and lightweight lights. Read more
