functional and beautiful

I have other vacuum brewers. One is not a Cona Two others are older Conas. I also have a French press and an electric drip coffee maker. There is no doubt in my mind. The Conas produce the best tasting coffee. They brew at the optimum temperature for extracting coffee. They don't add taste from paper or cloth filters and the taste of the coffee also is not absorbed by any filtering medium. There is no plastic to trap oils and become rancid, nor does the coffee come in contact with any metal. Although I like French press coffee, I can detect a metallic taste from the filtering mechanism. Not so from the Cona. The coffee only comes into contact with glass, not plastic, metal, cloth or paper. You get the best, unadulterated taste brewed at the optimum temperature for coffee extraction. I don't tire at watching it either. It's somewhat mesmerizing, like watching a chemistry experiment. Read more

You can truly taste the difference.

This siphon brewer has changed the game by eliminating the need for cloth or paper filters. The oils released during brewing aren’t trapped by a filter. They remain with the coffee giving off a fine aroma and a clean refreshing taste sans any bitterness. I recommend this brewer to anyone who appreciates fine coffee. Read more

I love this coffee maker

This does take a bit more time and attention than your basic automatic coffee maker. However, preheating the water as recommended will shorten the brewing time. The all glass construction and clean, pure taste more than make up for any additional brewing time or additional steps. This makes the best tasting coffee I've ever been able to make at home. Unique Gift

I have one of these unique coffee makers so I bought this as a gift to my daughter. It does take awhile to get delivered to the United States, but it arrived and arrived undamaged. It is fun to use! Read more

Well worth the money!

We had bought the Cona “A” model on our honeymoon back in 1992 and have been using it since. The Cona “D” is larger and made more sense at this point in our lives. When I ordered the Cona on Dec 2nd I was given a delivery date of Jan 15th so I was not expecting it before Xmas. However it arrived two weeks before Xmas and I was thrilled. Love this coffee maker and have for decades! Read more

worst syphon coffee maker

I have owned several from other companies the first one I actually bought in Japan. This one I received as a gift. The glass rod gets stuck and won't let the coffee in I have the burr grinder set at the most course setting. The glass rod can not be removed until the vacuum is broke so don't believe it is the grind. The coffee maker is not worth the price cheaper versions actually work. Read more
