This is a wonderful find for someone with fine hair. I have some hair concerns after having some hairloss due to a medication and so right now, I am really trying to be super careful with it. I didn't know what a silicone clip would feel like. Would it pull???? It does not. This curling iron is a dream come true for treating your hair gently. It doesn't even have full heat to it, it only goes to 385 degrees F. It does a wonderful job and creates zero friction. I'm so glad I found this curling iron! I have moved to a "pixie" style haircut for the summer. With hair this short and fine, I've found regular 1/2 inch flat irons and the one-inch diameter and smaller curling irons just don't clamp securely and hold my hair to allow it to be curled. The metal coverings on the clamps of those tools allow the hair to slip out too easily. With the silicone covering for the clamp on this "Oh So Kind", it easily grabs my hair and holds it and releases just as easily when I unclamp my hair. The ceramic covered barrel is recommended for fine hair. The choice in different temperatures makes this perfect to control the heat my fine hair is exposed to without damaging it. This curling iron was made specifically for fine hair and works very well to speed my hair styling. It has eliminated the frustration I was experiencing trying to use regular/typical curling irons for my hair. I rarely find it easy to give high praise to a product. The media could not be loaded. I get the idea behind this with the silicone clamp but heat doesn’t get through the silicone which makes it so it doesn’t actually curl your hair. At least not until you try it a few times. Who has time for that?! As someone with thin hair I really do like the idea of the silicone clamp as it did hold so my hair didn’t fall out which was super nice. Unfortunately it’s not serving its main purpose, to curl hair. The size is good, normal. The heat settings are good and have a variety of options and I appreciate how it has an auto shut off if left on for too long. Won’t be recommending this one though! Read more
