Some reviewers claim this is "breathable," which is not true; it keeps rain out and moisture in. I bought this in the "Hunter Orange" for more visibility on my runs (including evening runs) through my neighborhood. Usually, I don't start to sweat until after mile 3 in weather below 65 degrees, but I was already sweating before the 1-mile mark (54 degrees at the start of the run). The front zipper was completely down the entire time for maximum "airflow". I live in Colorado, so humidity was not a factor. It is definitely waterproof, and the sweat ran down my arms and dripped out of the sleeves. After my 5-mile short run, my forearms looked like they do when I'm in the shower. There was zero moisture penetration externally or internally. This will be great for running in the Fall rain and when we hit Winter. It is thin. Thin enough that I stretch before putting it on for my runs, so I don't rip it. If you care for it, it shouldn't rip. It's a paper-thin, lightweight "tarp" like material. As described, this is packable. Think of its use as an EMERGENCY OPTION to keep you dry by throwing it in a backpack or purse. THIS WILL PROBABLY NOT HOLD UP FOR EVERYDAY USE. I'll wear this one or 2x per week on runs for 40-60 minutes, and it should hold up for a few years. I'm 5'11", about 168 LBS, 40-41R Jacket size, and somewhat fit. The Medium fit well, and I could easily layer a moisture-wicking t-shirt, and up to two additional medium layers without losing much in range of motion. It serves my purposes and meets expectations, so I give it five stars. Read more

I've been looking for something like this for a while for packable travel purposes. It was reasonably priced so took a chance. It is lightweight and comes with it's own stuff sack. It does have that "rubbery" smell so I hung it up for a couple of weeks to see if it would go away...so far, not so much. I wear XL (5'8" 215 lbs) and this did fit rather well, seems like enough room to layer a light sweater or fleece. Sleeves are not too long which is great since there is not any cuff adjustment. The hood has good size to wear a baseball cap underneath. I like the kangaroo hand pocket and the front zip pocket is sizeable and easy to access. I tested it in a huge cloudburst at a football game and it did prove to be pretty waterproof. I can see where it can get hot in there due to no pit zips. The hood cinched up pretty well and kept tight around my face. Biggest complaint I have is the front zipper kept getting caught in the rain flap. Once zipped up, I was able to cover my chin, but then the "rubbery" smell was sort of annoying when the zip closed up near my face. I will be taking this on a late fall trip to Europe...we'll see how it does . For now, I think it does what I bought it for a decent price. If you are OK with a pullover, then this may work for you.
