I got the 2xl size for my 5’11” 255lb frame. My waist is legitimately 42.5” with a tape measure. I measured twice. These definitely fit, but in a very relaxed manner. They have an elastic waist band and if I load up the pockets with a phone, wallet, and keys, they will likely sag. A belt might be in order. I like the shorts. I bought these because I needed something that works for golf but doesn't look weird when I'm just out running errands. The 7-inch inseam hits right where I want it. Navy goes with pretty much anything I own. The stretch is what sold me and a great value. I can swing a driver without the fabric pulling across my thighs. That's been a problem with other shorts I've tried. They're light enough that I don't feel like I'm wearing heavy pants when it's 85 degrees out. The material has some weight to it though. Not like those cheap athletic shorts that feel like they'll tear if you look at them wrong. I've worn these to work on casual days. Then I'll drive straight to the course after without changing. Nobody at either place seems to think they look out of place. Got them in large and they fit how I expected. The waistband doesn't dig in when I sit down and stretch which makes them so comfortable (which drives me crazy with some of my other pairs). I've put them through the wash six times so far. They look exactly the same as when I first got them. I always check the seams on new shorts after wearing them a few times because I've had pairs completely fall apart on me. I love these shorts I got for my son. He's still at the point where he thinks wearing athletic shorts with a nice tshirt will work for a family event - he's 17. So, I saw these and liked that they aren't like typical "structured" golf shorts. They're honestly a great in between and - drumroll - he loves them. He also likes to wear things from like 1-2 years ago that don't fit. Now that he has some that fit I can tell he's more comfortable. So here are my main takeaways: 1) True to size based on getting a Medium 2) Can be dressed up or down - a huge advantage 3) Lightweight so perfect for summertime but also could work late spring/early fall 4) More pockets than typical dressy golf shorts. 5) Zippers are a nice contrasting color and work well 6) There is flexibility in the waist and also belt loops to help dress them up or help them stay on if needed. These COOFANDY men's seven-inch stretch dress shorts in black are really nice. My husband loved them as soon as he tried them on, and they fit perfectly. He's an XL (36 waist in jeans) and they were true to size for him. He plays golf regularly and he doesn't have a pair of shorts like this that have so much stretch. (He normally plays in cotton / jeans-type shorts.) He really likes how these fit and feel. These shorts can also be used for dressy casual in the summer or work functions. I was worried they might not be long enough in the leg, but they were exactly right. They were long enough, and as you can see by my picture, the stretch in the back of the waistline makes them very comfortable when bending or sitting.
