I bought this for my Semi hoping it would cling to the dash (was asking a bit much for the conditions, it's not a smooth dash has some texture to it) It didn't work there; however, I found a spot it works my cup holder that I don't use anyway has a flat & smoothe surface easy to use & mount I work in a harsh environment bouncing around on rutted uneven dirt roads/pits back to pavement and repeat. This holds my phone well, and the only issue I had was trying to figure out where to put it. So for my car my big issue is finding a place where this is easy to see, doesn’t block a vent, my rear view camera, or a cup holder. This works perfect for that because you can stick it to the dash. I haven’t had any quality issues, but my car also hangs out in the garage and isn’t often left in a hot space, so that could impact how well it holds. Read more
I got this phone mount to replace my other phone mount. My phone got so heated with the previous mount due to its positioning in the sunlight that my phone stops charging (to prevent damage to itself). I placed this phone mount in a way the phone is below the level of my dash. The arm is extended out from the mount. My previous mount was a few inches above the dash. Now, my phone is below the dash, near one of the air conditioner vents to keep cool. My dash is a bit difficult to find a proper mount as it's a smaller dash in a roadster with a convex shape... basically, a slight curve. The instructions say to mount this on a flat surface, which my dash doesn't have. So far, it seems to be holding tight. But time will tell. With a magsafe mount, it really is easy to place and remove my phone from the mount. I haven't driven a bumpy, rough road yet to determine if the phone stays secure to the magsafe ring. Will report back it if doesn't. The base of the mount appears to be plastic. The arm and magsafe ring appear to be metal. Quality design and no unwanted brand advertising anywhere. Ordered this to use with my phone case that has a magsafe compatible ring embedded in it. It works really well -- the magnet is very strong and holds my phone very securely. I am also very impressed with how firmly the suction cup side holds as well. It seems to rely both on the suction cup along with some level of stickiness on the suction cup itself. Not adhesive, per-se, since I was able to peel it off without a problem. But, Definitely stronger than just the suction cup alone. The ring moves around and twists, allowing a pretty wide variety of orientations. At $10 at time of writing this review, it's a great price for a solid magsafe compatible mount. Read more
This mount is great. The magnetic hold is super strong and doesn’t lose grip of my phone even when going over large bumps or turns, which I experienced with other similar products in the past. It is easy to install on your vehicle. The only thing to notice that you want to make sure you have a MagSafe case or place your phone on it without a case, otherwise you’ll not be able to use this. I’ve now used this for a couple of weeks, and I’ve got to say, I’m pretty impressed! I had high doubts that the suction mount would stick to the dash of my 2009 Toyota Tundra, but lo and behold, using the alcohol cleaning wipe, it’s been rock solid! Sitting in the sun, driving down gravel roads, and it’s solid as a rock. The joints in the arms stay where you want them to be, and the MagSafe magnet holds my iPhone 14 Pro securely.
